Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim (Substack) There is a lot going on in “Bogotá: City of the Lost” — shootings, explosions, backstabbing and double-crossings. But when it’s all over, you realize that it was mostly much ado about nothing. Rated: 2/4 Mar 28, 2025 Full Review Lakshana N Palat Gulf News (UAE) Corruption lurks in every corner of the film, yet the storytelling fails to capitalise on its potential. Instead of delving deeper into the complexities of this theme, the narrative feels oversimplified, as if it’s being dumbed down for the audience. Feb 13, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider Kim offers keen visual sensibilities and a potentially rich premise, but Bogota: City of the Lost doesn’t quite fulfill its potential. Feb 5, 2025 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies [Despite] a strong start, [Bogota: City of the Lost] kind of becomes formulaic and forgettable. Rated: 2/5 Feb 4, 2025 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut The messaging is offensively simple, there’s a perplexing lack of the dramatic elements that should underpin this kind of drug saga, and the whole thing ambles along to a perfunctory conclusion almost as if it needn’t have existed at all. Sandra M Outstanding. This movie has all the usual high quality Korean Drama aspects: Storyline, acting, cinematography, script music et al. Of course, Song Joong Ki brings his incredible acting skills into full force in this difficult lead role. As an actor, he has excellent range, playing very different characters in very different roles across his successful career. 'Bogota, City of the Lost' may not appeal to audiences used to the standard (boring IMO!) USA style movies, as it has layers and complexities that Korean Drama does so much better than the USA. As an Australian English speaker who watches KDrama with subtitles, even I was able to see the superior level this movie achieves. It certainly calls for a sequel. I believe this story has only just begun. 10/10 🌟 Sandra from Australia 🇦🇺 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review Garron W Worst movie I have seen this year. Visually appealing but poorly written, stereotypical and lacks a storyline. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Audience Member I hate this movie, I don't know about Colombians, but I thought it was a terrible movie! Full of ridiculous stereotypes, as if any city in Latin America was so dangerous that people needed weapons to defend themselves. With each stereotype I rolled my eyes and asked myself "Seriously? Be more creative!" If you're not going to make a good job of a movie set in a foreign country, don't do it and save yourselves from embarrassment! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Kenneth L This movie was ok. The story was interesting and well-told, but it wasn't particularly compelling.
