Carey V Wow... This was SO Bad in every respect. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Artist E This is a cool teen movie that talks about some deep stuff. It might seem like just a basic love story, but it's actually a bunch of different stories all tangled up. Definitely worth checking out! Set in the heart of Philly, this joint hooked me right in, showcasing why indie films are my jam. The lead actors? Straight-up chemistry. You can feel it, adding that realness to their characters. The director? A storytelling wizard, keeping the crowd locked in with a mix of humor and heartfelt moments, smooth like butter. This movie is a gem for those craving a deep, character-driven drama. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Bob R "Boston to Philly" is a captivating indie film that weaves a tale of friendship, redemption, and self-discovery. A true inner city tail set in Philadelphia, this one really grabbed me and is the reason I love indie film. The chemistry between the lead actors is palpable, adding a layer of sincerity to their characters. The director's skillful storytelling keeps the audience engaged, blending humor and heartfelt moments seamlessly. "Boston to Philly" is a gem for those seeking a thoughtful, character-driven drama. It's a testament to the power of storytelling and the enduring bonds that shape our lives. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/11/23 Full Review Anne-Laure M Nice teenage movie with heavy themes covered. This "simple love story" turns out to be several stories crossing each other. Worth watching Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review Rick I Now this is indie filmmaking. I can't say enough good things about this movie. It's inspiring, full of heart, full of ideas. It sort of meanders… in a good way for me. It's got a loose plot revolving around a group of students who are tasked with learning about each other for a school assignment. But that's really just a device, the film is way more interested in the types of people that the camera is pointed at, and where they came from, than anything else. I felt totally invested in the romance story as well as the friendship stories. Plus this is an indie movie that actually surprised me with some of the reveals that came later in the game. Love the wide range of music tracks selected. Love the multiracial cast. Love the messaging. The whole thing at times feels like a love letter to Philadelphia with tons of cool locations visited along with a description of what you're looking at. The cinematography feels like a doc at times, with a run and gun style that grounds the story and sets it firmly in modern day real life. Some of this feels so vulnerable. I love that the writer/director has things to say about the state of society and some very current events, but also isn't afraid to point the finger back at his own community and find places we can all improve. For some reason I just really connected with this story and I can't wait to see more from these filmmakers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
