splendid the movie should have been called Snowboard Girl but then again it prolly wouldnt have sounded as good again another overly-cliche storyline is told with high energy and some good laughs the locales are stunning, the acting isnt too shabby, plus you got some fun cameos from Bill Nighy to Brooke Shields they serve no real purpose though but just to support the main actress Felicity Jones really struts her stuff here and is quite radiant at the same time such a positive energy really lifts up the confidence boost and the soundtrack really won me over, too no need to skip this one because its a British comedy that will warm your heart and appeal to snowboarders and non-snowboarders alike without being so pretentious no just for girls too ya know

So much critic negativity here. This is a does what it says on the tin movie. It's certainly feel good, well acted, easy characters to watch, fabulous scenery and Bill Nighy, what else do you want! I laughed and cried and laughed again. Don't miss the end credits, brilliant! If you need an uplift and don't get snowboarding then watch this movie. I personally don't think you will be disappointed, but don't expect your grey matter to be challenged too much!!

Formulaic sports/rom/com. Nothing new here. Even the on-snow shots are underwhelming. Best I can say is good looking actors/actresses. Maybe good for a few chuckles.

It was ok! However, I have a few pointers- 1. Chalet girl looks like the mom of the chalet family. 2. this movie falsely advertises the chalet girl to be a chalet- which she is unfortunately NOT. 3. chalet girl should never have forgiven chalet boy (Chuck Bass).

This is the best film ever, views are amazing, plotting solid and casting perfect.

I mean, come on! It's not going to be historically significant. However, it's a film all about girls in the best way possible. Two unlikely girls become friends and support each other. Some actual tara dakides, to play a role of a woman helping lift up another woman. This movie rocks. What I love the most about the film? There isn't actually an antagonist. How many ‘Woman overcomes' story still allows another woman lose as some winning? This film doesn't allow the patriarchy to win over by putting a woman against another. Also, grief. I get it. As an alpinist who still struggles to just get out of bed after losing my dad: grief sucks.

Just go along for the ride, we know everything will work out in the end as soon as the rich guy decides to live his own life and our star gets over her mother's death. With Felicity Jones's charming and beautiful performance, Chalet Girl turns out to be a pretty good hero's journey movie, even when it is obviously predictable and has pretty much nothing original.

I very much enjoy British movies and this is a particularly good one. Felicity Jones is as charming as ever and in a role totally different from what we have seen so far. Her snowboarding skills are impressive too although most of the stunts probably were done by a stunt woman. "Chalet Girl" is a charming movie about a young girl who like some of us struggles with life until a big opportunity presents itself. Once Kim is out in Austria the movie starts. And while there is no major tension or excitement the movie still doesn't disappoint. The charm and quirkiness of all the characters makes this so enjoyable to watch. I really got the feeling of a real skiing holiday while watching this movie and it made want to put on mine. The fact that most things feel so authentic and are exactly like they are on real ski-runs makes the movie even better. Hoping for a better job and pay, instead she discovered herself. I think it was a much better film. I just wanted a good entertainment and I got that. Though the story is not fresh enough. In fact, it is comparable to the recent sports-biopic, I mean that came much later to this, 'Eddie the Eagle'. Looks even the filmed location was same. Quite similar theme when it comes to the sporting events, but there's a wide gap on how it was played and by whom. From the director of 'All about Steve'. Firstly, it was a sport film and then romance attached to it in the required opening slot. So pretty inspiring to focus on something in our life to reach the heights. There's no shortcuts, it's always a hard work. In the film, that concept was funnily told. Encountering a new world, and discovering new things. It includes friendship, love and dedication in what one believes in. Great cast, except the love interest of Felicity Jones. He wasn't bad, but the chemistry did not work, even in the short span of their romance in the tale. Anyway, the romance parts were too cliché, but neglectable as it has little value. Because there are other reasons to like the film. The stunts are not extraordinary, just simple and realistic. The film will work for most of the people if they're not expecting too much. This is not some chick flick, a better film than that. 6.5/10

It's kind of amazing how nonsensical a very simple story can be.
