Based on the beloved Roald Dahl tale, this comedic and fantastical film follows young Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) and his Grandpa Joe (David Kelly) as they join a small group of contest winners who get to tour the magical and mysterious factory of eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp). While Wilder's Wonka had the pensive perfume of bittersweet chocolate, Depp's Wonka is that weird white chocolate--not really what you have in mind when you want to eat chocolate but can be an acquired taste and definitely part of the culinary craft.

Charlie and the chocolate factory is a great book but the movie is a little too crazy. I would recommend it for seven year olds and up because I feel like there’s a lot of like scares for the Young‘s. It is like when the rich girl fell in that hole or when violet turned into a blueberry, I think like three year olds, would say I am scared. Maybe I turn into a blueberry if I eat gum or I’m not gonna touch squirrels or I might not feed a squirrel or I’m not gonna drown I never gonna go in the ocean because they’re scared of the when Augustus glue fell into the chocolate water or they’re scared if they shrink because they think they’re shrink at night so they get scared if they might

There is a lot of standing and looking around. They take turns to talk. Kids don't really react like kids, they just look bored and underwhelmed by factory and everything. Being turned into candy is a mild inconvenience. Vibes are off and muted like the colors. Also those gobstoppers would break your jaw and choke a kid to death.
