Joshua Rothkopf Time Out More funny than scary, this schlock-horror Z flick articulates a primal NYC fear harbored by anyone who’s ever peered down a sewer grate. May 11, 2025 Full Review Rick Lyman Philadelphia Inquirer C.H.U.D. is filmed in that cheapo netherworld where some of the people know how to act, some of them don't and nobody can quite figure out how to make the camera work right. Rated: 1/5 May 11, 2025 Full Review Eleanor Ringel Cater Atlanta Journal-Constitution The film has a good sense of place, some witty touches, and good performances by its stars. May 11, 2025 Full Review Michael Wilmington L.A. Weekly However tawdry and inexcusable the whole project... the director, writer and actors have still managed to cram a certain amount of intelligence and humor into the plotholes. May 11, 2025 Full Review Roxanne T. Mueller Cleveland Plain Dealer What's so entertaining about "C.H.U.D." is that it mixes satire of those cold-blooded establishment types who run the EPA and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and genuine old-times scares. May 11, 2025 Full Review Terry Doran Buffalo News You'd have to be starved for fright sequences to bite on this one. May 11, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Raiodesol S It takes too long for things to start happening and the build up isnt well executed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Frank C An unsung classic from the 80s. Brilliantly capturing the filth and urban decay of 1984 New York City, to the point that the city itself becomes a character, and you can almost smell how bad it was then. NYC is still awful, but today they manage to hide it under a bunch of neon lights. This film is an incredible metaphor for government bureaucracy run amok. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review jay h This needs to be remade. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Jay H Would somebody please explain to me how a C.H.U.D. could fit inside a shower drain??? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/10/24 Full Review KING S Another great 80”s horror flick , creepy and sets the viewer in a very dark place below the streets under NY tunnel ways where your always on edge wondering what’s going to pop up , infected homeless or the mutated monsters ? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review le m The slow-burn, bone-chilling, spine-tingling, genre-redefining gem that saved the party. How many shall watch? Millions, billions even!
