While she tries to determine her career goals, Iris (Toni Collette) becomes a temporary worker for Global Credit. There, all the regular employees ignore her, so she becomes friendly with three other temps: socializing actress Paula (Lisa Kudrow), conceited Jane (Alanna Ubach) and rebellious Margaret (Parker Posey). Though Margaret pines for a permanent job with the company, a rash of office thefts makes people suspicious of her, and Iris wonders whether or not to stand behind her new friend.

I am one of the people who is revisiting Parker Posey's oeuvre because of White Lotus. I first saw this movie on a Blockbuster VHS, as a child. I didn't appreciate then the many subtle social commentaries, the poetic rhythms, and the artistry of this film. Mentally stimulating, and yet not overwhelming.

I guess I just don't get it. A slice of life piece is the only thing I can call it. It is NOTHING like Office Space. The characters here are realistic but only one of them is interesting. It's not funny. It's pretty dull and not much happens. The DP did what he could with flat walls and flat lighting. It would probably be better as a play.
