The opening and closing sequences of this film are among the greatest visual storytelling; cinematic sequences, ever committed to celluloid. Minimal dialogue and tone perfect music that is expertly scored to the action, propel forward and close a tale of woe, great and tragic to behold. I love this movie. Yes, it has flaws, and a b movie feel, but it transcends this "trapping" by the sheer grandeur, production chops, and the bloody guts of it all. Do yourself a favour and watch it!

Filme legalzinho, o roteiro é bacaninha, gostei do arnold como bárbaro e gostei da cena dela ter matado um cobra gigante, e também da cena que o conan e seus amigos invadindo o local do vilão e matou todos os guardas, e outras cenas de ação boas, a história do filme não é interessante, mas as cenas de ação são muito boas e melhoram muito o filme, com tudo isso, eu recomendo esse filme.

What's wrong with it? The hairdos; runtime (an hour too long); the repetitive and often superfluous 'fight' scenes. Gory, campy, and a great soundtrack which set the template for 80s R rated fantasy. Makes me nostalgic for when movies used to be fun.

Good, deep film with action , watching Conan seeing him his mother beheaded, then seeking revenge as he grows into a strong man, then falls in love with a warrior Woman just like him, The Next Film is more tame than this one Conan The Destroyer.

A very enjoyable fantasy film that is held together by a director that knew the strengths of each of his actors and have used them to their full potential in pivotal scenes that make this film a must watch.

"O que não nos mata nos fortalece" Mas nem fortaleceu, kkk, que filme chatinho, não esperava muito, não curto a história, a versão de 2011 que deve ser levemente melhor (se não, pelo menos com melhores efeitos e modernização) e eu simplesmente odiei, não esperava nada muito promissor, ou eu sou muito chata… Bora para a última sofrência, a versão de 1984...

I don't know the original comic on which it is based, what you can see is that the film sticks as close as possible, judging by the rawness of the development. For a weekend, alone, it works well. Beware of imitations.

I remember some glimpses of scenes from this I watched as a kid but never imagined this to be as glorious as it is. Along with Terminator 2 Judgment Day, my favourite Shwarzzaneger movie now. What an incredible production design that is impeccable in creating this sword and sorcery world! The cinematography and music go along perfectly with it. No wonder it was the golden standard for fantasy until Lord of the Rings came along but it still doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. The storytelling that mostly depends on visuals with minimal dialogue and great use of music really shows the best aspects of filmmaking. It's a sexy, brutal, contemplative epic for ages.

Milius managed to shoot around the fact that they didn't have a lot of money (lots of montages of people running, letting the incredible score imply a larger scope) and craft a pretty effective adult fantasy.
