Country Strong Reviews
I've watched this movie a few times and I always enjoy the ride. The music is good and their are a lot of compelling moments among the characters.
Vemos Elvis, Legião, Cazuza, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse,.... Roteiro e enredo raozoavéis. Vale apena assistir? Sim, se não tiver outra opção. Nota: 4
Tim, and Gwenyth were really the only thing worth this whole movie they actually showed they somewhat cared about this role- still had bad writing and was trying its best to be a version of a star is born. Loved that Gwen was actually singing. and some of the songs were actually okay. Dont need to watch it but either way I still leave loving Gwenyth Paltrow.
Such a great movie definitely a must see the music throughout the movie is amazing every song is so good and the story line is very touching a 10/10 in my books and I've watched this movie over 1000 times and it never gets old
Wow, I cannot believe the low scores for this movie. I absolutely loved it! Garrett Hedlund made me feel like a totally-in-love-teenager again. The music is superb. Story, acting and flow are decent. It works. I wish movies coming out in the 2020's were as decent as this.
My first thought regarding this film is that I enjoyed the music, the live performances of contemporary country songs, more than I enjoyed the rather bleak plot being played out between such scenes. Compared to other films about country musicians who have had to come back from a bad place, this one wasn't the most substantial but its an alright film. There are definitely some cliches at play and it did seem to me to be targeted as a 'chick flick' type of a film, which may or may not make it seem more of interest to you. I'd have liked to learn more about the main character, Kelly Canter, played by Gwyneth Paltrow - more about her background perhaps? I'm not sure but I didn't feel especially emotional about her, I suppose because I didn't feel a lot of details were given to the viewer about her. While the songs are fun and enjoyable, its quite depressing seeing how Kelly acts around people, when away from the spotlight, so I wouldn't recommend this as a guaranteed feel good, uplifting kind of a film. That aside, its an alright watch.
This movie was a good but I'm giving it a 2 star rating because after reading it was portraying the life of Brittany Spears, it turns out that it isn't cause it looked like it was portraying what Mindy McCready was going through. It's a good movie up until the end
It directed rebirth in "A Star is Born" with a talented cast defining its own struggles through confidence, and tuned genre, but pivotally mirrors the story while updating the characterization in separate indecisive entities of the musical relationship displaying reminiscing loyalty. (B)
It worked for me. The cast cut through some of the melodrama, and Meester stole the show.
It appears that most people thought this movie was awful, but I thoroughly enjoyed it
Not sure why this movie scored so low. The acting was phenomenal. You could visually and emotionally feel the pain and joy and struggle of each character throughout their "journey". Would have loved a happily ever after but the ending was raw and real and tragic and beautifully done.
This was a soundtrack in search of a movie. The basic plot was in place but it felt like I was watching a first draft that needed a major rewrite and multiple revisions. The direction was horrible--as jarring as a tilt-a-whirl. Ms Paltrow's talents were mostly wasted and Tim McGraw was way over his head. No doubt, some "executive" thought up the brilliant idea to fill a lead roll with a singer instead of an actor. There was also little to no understanding of addiction and recovery which was just one of many off-key notes in this mashup mess. I'm saddened really, because I can see what this movie could have been. That's the movie I wanted to see.
the acting by Gwyneth is impeccable. Tim McGraw is amazing, he portrays a total a* but somehow keeps his coming back to his humanity. The character that played Bo was incredible, I was a little bit disappointed with the chiles actress.
I thought it an exceptional tale of recovery gone wrong--a topic that deserves focus. The music was excellent!
It's painful to watch for so many reasons.... Luckily I don't like long reviews so I just chose my favorite: the song "country strong" will make you hate music.
I absolutely love this movie with all my heart. I think it is a great, great movie and i do not like everything that comes along. i can not believe all the negativity on here about this movie. so many people got it so wrong. I guess some, excuse me, MOST people don't know a great movie when they see one. Many people hate on country music tho so that may have something to do with it...not surprised.
Tim gweneth and garret gave a killer performance. Not sure why the bad reviews I can watch this over and over along with the godfather and the shining ????
This movie is highly underrated. I've never understood why the critics hated it so much. Garrett Hedlund as Beaux represented real country, and his voice and songs are something I'd be happy to hear on a Red Dirt Country station. Tim McGraw shows some great acting chops in a non-singing role, too.
