Crossing Over Reviews
How this movie is rated at 15% when I posted, is beyond me. It deserved at least AVERAGE. The acting was acceptable. The dialogue was suitable. The screenwriting was achievable. What's the problem?!? This is called a DRAMA movie. I don't think this generation of movie goers are used to a DRAMA movie
I disagree with the "critics". This movie is completely believable and also, excellent casting and acting. I found it to be moving and inspiring.
This movie, though released in 2008, captures so many critical issues facing people in this country and of those wanting to come and/or stay here. The reasons for and repercussions of 9/11, the desperate and sometimes frivolous reasons to immigrate, the tragic lives of too, too many people, and the extreme differences in cultures that have and continue to create this country are portrayed by an excellent cast. Watch it.
Some excellent performances by great actors addressing an important topic in a meaningful and revealing way. The critics can shove it. It was a great film.
🎬Derivative yet technically well done & elevated via star caliber performances ... Highly respectable effort handling heavy duty subject matter of US immigration & the tangled web of horrors that often accompany those struggles on many levels, from simple ignorance, to inhumane brutality, and even some wry, mildly, bizarre satire... 🌠The messages / lessons to be learned: ◇#1 Reminder that the US is an amalgamation of worldwide cultures. ◇#2 Acceptance & Appreciation of those many cultures & their contributions to the entire world requires proper genuine acknowledgement & continuous education. ◇#3 Human Progress is a necessity in overcoming the constant challenges of ignorance, politics, corruption, among the many complexities of our world🌎☯️
I loved the movie it was really an eye opener as Americans we really take our freedom for granted until injustices happens to our families.
One of my favorite movies.
It is well meaning but the film hits you over the head with an uncomfortable story that is neater as interesting or powerful as it thinks.
So many little stories of the struggle of becoming an american or the struggle of immigration. But none of them really get the time or treatment that they need.
This is the worst movie ever! This young girl stands in front of a class in American after 9/11 explaining how she understood what the terrorists did to our towers, it sickened me.
Crossing over reminds me of the Oscar winner Crash. Much like Crash Crossing over is a collected of different characters and their stories about trying to get to America and the hassles of dealing with the officers and papers. It is strange to watch a film on a sensitive subject and not be moved but that was my final reaction, because it felt as though the director was pulling at the heartstrings in a so obvious way. Filled with name faces like Ray Liotta and Harrison Ford alongside newcomers acting is pretty convincing. This is a film that can be appreciated by a people who fall under a certain political spectrum, ones opposite to this ideology would be bored, angered even perhaps.

Awesome movie with awesome reality. Immigration is dirty, it is a serious reality that those who wish to come to our God Blessed America take all too lightly. This film shows the lengths to which these people will go to in order to circumnavigate the system. Once you are a citizen, yes you can enjoy all the rights and citizenship of these United States. Until then, it is the duty of immigrants to keep their mouths shut. The reason this movie got such poor ratings was not because it was presented poorly, it is because the leftist, communist anarchist anti American Hollywood influences didn’t want this film to succeed. Because it shows reality. I loved it.
This is like a cliff notes of what can happen in the USA related to immigration. You know, all these desperate people that suck up to the english invador. Well they better suck up anyway or else. The film had a nice balance of the evil on every side. USA is the perfect place for that. Why want so much to be in the USA? To be out of garbage country and have the opportunity to be anything of course. Don't mind the shootings!
Awful attempt at installing progressive propaganda in the form of a piece of trash they call a movie, It was impossible to emphasise with any of the obnoxious characters, they don't belong in a free country.
