Damsel Reviews
Good movie, definitely worth a watch. The dragon itself was very well done but I did find the story a bit boring and also wanted more revenge 😂
SPOILER WARNING: Great movie. Did not do the annoying “hoorah woman power” crap and have a 5 foot lady going blade to blade with a 6’4 soldier, she was cunning, enduring, and intelligent, and saved herself and her sister. The dragon was amazingly done, awesome voice acting and animations. The plot was really solid, and the acting was good.
Refreshing twist to the usual fairytale story
Don't believe these critics. They wouldn't know a good movie if it smacked them in the face It was a great movie definitely worth the watch. Five stars
I don't understand the bad ratings, but everybody has his own taste luckily. I find the movie very enjoyable and Milli Bobby Brown kicks ass.
So why did Millie Bobby Brown's hair suddenly get a perfectly cut short bob 3 quarter's way through the film. Also? Kaleesi she ain't. This movie is frankly dreadful. Oi.
Amazing flim Millie Bobby brown did a fantastic job !
Although the film clearly demonstrates Feminism as an integral theme of the film, it is a great film for those who like to reflect on triumphing in adversity, overcoming the impossible and overcoming unimaginable adversities. The film has a very serious point about family betrayals and at the same time, it brings a message of repentance and forgiveness from a father, who made a drastic mistake and, admitting his mistake, seeks sincere redemption by recruiting soldiers to join him, saving his daughter from danger. where he was absolutely guilty of having placed her in it, to the detriment of helping his people who were going through poverty and hardship in their homeland. The protagonist Elodie ) demonstrates a supernatural strength to save herself with honor, determination and purpose and prove to everyone who sentenced her to an absolutely unfair sentence that she and none of the other condemned women in the past deserved it. The revenge that she fought for herself and all the other wronged young brides, has a triumphant and fair ending for all of them, and gives a lesson to the enemy family with her end under the fire of the dragon, and in the end the his triumph with this same dragon who has also been wronged and deceived for centuries. The end of the film is brilliant and brings reflections on character and values that should be followed and also what should not be done.
Millie Bobby Brown did a great job in her role. The CGI was great. Loved the story and the overall film! One of my favorites!
Even though the movie starts with a quote about not being a damsel in distress. Insinuating she is a badass. She kind of acts like a damsel like half the movie. And there was a blatant fan service scene where water was dripping in her mouth from above in a cave. It comes together decently in the end though. I'm a sucker for fantasy movies so it gets 4 stars. The dragon cgi to me was great.
CGI isn't great. I never get to enjoy it as I thought I would.
Awesome Millie Bobbie browns continues to deliver
Totally a masterpiece for the ones who like fantasy gender. Good acting and ending
I am a fantasy movie type of a person & a huge ray Winstone fan, but this movie is a such a waste his talent. I never get to enjoy it as I thought I would.
"Princess saves herself from dragon" is the concept. But right off the bat, the girl's body endures a beating that no one could survive, and so, I stopped taking the film seriously early on. Ultimately, it's an original story that deserves a look, but I wasn't emotionally invested.
Absolute Masterpiece with the best and most charismatische Dragon ever created, an amazing Millie Brown and a twist ending on the Genre.
This is a perfect example of how dreadful Netflix and similar streaming services are at producing quality films. Brown does her best to keep it engaging, but it suffers from a dull, uninspired, and predictable script, coupled with an overreliance on CGI in a misguided attempt to prop it up.
The best parts of this movie included the dragon's CGI, its voice, the chase scene in its lair, and Robin Wright's portrayal of the 'evil' queen. Angela Bassett is a marvelous actress but her acting abilities were not given a chance in this movie. Millie Bobby Brown's acting has never impressed me. The plot of a young damsel turned heroine without the help of a 'handsome prince' is interesting but doesn't make the movie much better.
Some writing could’ve been improved but the acting was great and I love a ‘simple’ fairytale with good twists and some drama! Beautiful cinematography
