Dark Horse Reviews
I really enjoyed this interesting documentary/movie. The real life characters are entertaining and the amazing horse is the star of the show. The editing, direction and cinematography are excellent.
Nice story in many ways, especially that they saw the horse as part of their family, not just an investment. Horse racing is an inhumane "sport," but this true event has some value in terms of seeing animals as partners, not "property."
BRILLIANT! A modern classic
It just isn't very interesting or fun as it's trailer presents. That's all.
Not a fan of horse racing because of the amount of horses that get killed, but this was a great story, not only because a group of friends in Wales decided to breed a race horse but because when the horse was injured they didn't let him die. He went on to recover and race again and now is enjoying his retirement.
Good enough. Was expecting more like "Seabiscuit" maybe. But this is either a documentary or a mockumentary with lots of sitting interviews. A great story, & supposedly a true story, but told like a PBS doc. If you're a horse person you'll of course especially like this ...!
Great come from behind horse story with the twist that a whole village in Wales owns him--and it's not a Hollywood film like Seabiscuit or National Velvet, but a documentary with a true, heartwarming story.
What a great little flick. He's a "working class horse" she says. It's a great story about working class people and their love of this horse that turns out to be one of the family. Not much I can say about it other than it's a real uplifter.
There are many films on race horses, but this refreshing feel good documentary is not just about the size of a horses heart, its also the size of its owners heart for their horse!
A small, luckless Welsh community breaks all of the rules in horse racing in this incredibly inspirational doc. A horse fueled by hope, these unlikely champions spiritedly let their Dream run.
Got caught up in this story of a true underdog who should have never succeeded. Welling up by the end.
A very pleasant to watch documentary....a "you don't know what will happen if you just try" message.
Dark Horse is an enjoyable film An inspirational true story of a group of friends from a working men's club who decide to take on the elite 'sport of kings' and breed themselves a racehorse.. You cannot help cheering for everyone and mostly the horse (Dark Horse)
Well made documentary about some rather ordinary people who have done a rather incredible thing. Raising an amazing race horse from quite humble stock, and on a shoe string budget. The story will run you through every emotion. Just go see it.
