Dave Chappelle: 8:46 Reviews
Still the funniest comic.
Tired, Lazy, sad and cringe-y. What a waste of my time. Save yourself the second-hand embarrassment and skip whatever he's done in the last 5 or so years. He needs to take another long vacation and find a decent therapist. It's just NOT FUNNY.
Absolutely hilarious how the same people that hated this special are the same ones that LOVE his latest hacky trashfest, "the closer". Well at least Dave found the perfect audience to grift, right wingers. They love tossing their money, and more importantly, their time and effort into spreading their love for their heros online when those people echo their awful ideologically inspired bad takes.
Wasn't really comedy, but still a great message for tough times where people seem to have lost their s**t.
Not funny. Angry ranting sure, but not comedy. My first ever negative rating for this Comedy Master and Legend.
Emotional. Deep. His work here is difficult not to feel in the core of you being as we all try to live our own human experience.
It was certainly an interesting experience, but if you look for comedy, this one isn't it. This is a heartfelt plead from Dave about the struggles of the black community and how even in this modern time, police issues still exist to a big impactful extent. This isn't a comedy show, it's a real moment which everyone should watch. It doesn't matter if you think that police issues are not as bad or are worse than the media says, it really doesn't matter. This is about a man who speaks from his heart. If so many black Americans feel this way, regardless if it's the reality or not, it just shows there's something culturally that has to be fixed.
Telling the truth all in jokes. I enjoyed it.
Side achingly funny. Yes, if you are a sensitive flower then this is not for you. He real and cuts through all the fakery of today.
His same age old routine, only the trans aren’t after him on this one.
Love Dave...., he didn't have the facts and in my humble opinion made a fool of himself.
I like Dave and he can do whatever he wants with his voice obviously but I like Dave the comedian and this isn't comedy
Dave Chappelle 846 - 10/10. Powerful. Poignant. And really needed during these times. Dave Chappelle has, and always is, ahead of the times. He has spoken on the situations that have happened in America for years in his specials, always highlighting harsh realities with his trademark in your face, thinking man humour. This special is geared towards the current events happening with Black lives matter protests and the outrage of the deaths from police brutality. 8:46 is not a special designed to make you laugh out loud (it has its moments of jokes though). What this special is is a opportunity for Chappelle to lend his opinion and analysis of whats going on. He doesn't hold back and is visibly and understandably livid and angry. His way of relating past stories to the reason why people are in uproar right now is sure brilliance. He has always been my favourite standup comic for this one reason. He's well educated on the history of America, and he discusses these events in a way which is captivating and moving. This is essential viewing for everyone!
