Simpática, una de esas películas diferentes que tratan de mostrarte el mundo desde un punto de vista criminal y pesimista. Bastante artística, sin grandes efectos pero con un buen ritmo y giros argumentales. Tiene algo que es fundamental y que puede ser o muy bueno o muy malo según quien lo mire: se apoya demasiado en el gran elenco de actores que tiene.

Great movie, gets a lot of hate for no reason. The story keeps you interested the whole time, it gets very crazy too.

If I knew upfront it was a film taking an "artsy" approach to a trite cliche'd genre I may have appreciated it more. But, I was still looking for a cohesive storyline which made the beginning and the end somewhat confusing. But, in every other way it delivered what I thought it would and better than most. I hope this review helps anyone watching it to enjoy it for being atypical.

I think I'm done watching movies by "celebrated" directors. I know Schrader wrote Taxi Driver, and helped write Raging Bull and Bringing Out The Dead. It seems like he might be best at writing original screenplays or coming up with ideas that are ultimately handled by someone else, like Scorsese. Schrader is like George Lucas to Spielberg. I tried to watch Affliction, another of Schrader's writer/director credits, and it was just as boring and disjointed as this film. This has been more a critique of Schrader than this film, so here's the review: don't bother.

Are there any movies where Dafoe is not a complete freak? Paul Schrader is milking a stone in this work, we have a lot of cool and creative takes, but it looks like we have an episode of a 온라인카지노추천 show rather than a movie. Everything is rushed and poorly explained and what was meant to impact ends up being just more unnecessary violence because we have no connections with the characters and their stories. The performances are good but they don't save the film from mediocrity.

Worst movie ever!!!! Disgusting, wretched garbage!!!! They kill a kid in the first five minutes of this horrible film!!!! I put on a different movie due to the dreadful nature of this film. I only gave it half a star due to the fact that I had to give it something. Killing a kid is unnecessary. Do not waste your time with this movie!!!!

Somehow, this is a Nicolas Cage protagonist film. I say, no thanks. I do not understand how he managed to accept the role of a film as chaotic as this. Sure, he is the type for masculine roles, but he's too iconic for something like this.

Who cares about the critics, I enjoyed this movie very much.

19% is too low for any Paul Schrader movie, I have yet to dislike a single one. It's never boring, but the complaints about it seeming unfinished are warranted. But it feels kind of intention the way I see it, like these lowlifes are making the film and Schrader is trying to channel their jaded edges and is at his most polarizing here. Willem DaFoe and Nicholas Cage turn in typically outstanding performances. The film is style over substance, it's messy and flawed just like it's characters and finds a B-movie pulp that's aim is to entertain for 90 minutes under WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY. 9/10.

Started out really promising as a dark, gritty crime thriller about three underworld guys with great performances by Dafoe, Cage and Christopher Cook. Sadly though about 2/3 into the movie, it turned into a disjointed mess of scenes with each one having less and less to do with the things that happened before. It's like they ran out of money or someone quit in the middle of the production. Almost surreal in the way it derailed towards the end. The ending was a total train wreck. Very disappointing to what started out as a promising movie.

If there was ever a movie that deserves 0 stars, this one is it. Nick Cage must be so desperate for scripts that he took this lump of *hi* in 2016. It's almost like 3 ex-cons actually wrote, acted and directed it from a prison for the mentally incapacitated.

Between the 2 main actors, I couldn't stop watching. Awesome for keeping my attention and an open mind.

Dog Eat Dog ain't too trash, but it is pretty hard to believe that this came from the same dude who made First Reformed. There is absolutely not so much as a single character in this that the audience can be expected to like, and though of course no filmmaker is obligated to make enjoyable characters, it is pretty tough to slog through a >90min runtime of back-to-back bastards.

The director has tried to impregnate the movie with a frenetic rhythm and a certain "Tarantinian" essence. However, the result is quite impersonal, and despite his commitment to offering us strong emotions and unfettered action, our interest in Dog eat Dog is declining.

A lot of action but the story-line is a bit out there.

Dafoe tried, cinematographer tried, but in the end - Schrader only managed one resonant line for me here. The rest never feels more than skin deep.

About 15 minutes in I asked myself why I was watching this repellent, sadistic crap.
