The story is juvenile and predictable, the dialogue is terrible either being cheesy or due to the delivery very rarely ringing true and the direction is bland.

Dragon ball evolution was a horrible thrown together movie that thrown a big time anime name into the ground. Starting with a horrible cast that was just thrown together for a quick buck, undoubtedly the worst cast created for a live action anime movie. They turned the movie into a laughing stock American movie by throwing him into high school and being a laughing stock. I wouldn't want anyone to see this movie if your a fan of the anime Dragon ball as you will want to rip your eyes out watching this. i would rate this 0/10 but one let me on here. Don't waste your time watching this.

Dragon Ball Evolution is basically a low-budget soft porn movie with fight scenes—except the entire movie had nothing to do with Dragon Ball. It was like someone skimmed a Wikipedia summary and thought, ‘Yeah, close enough.’ The dragon? Not even Shenron—just a random European dragon that looked like it wandered in from a different movie. Honestly, the only thing this film evolved was fans' ability to pretend it never existed.

Film was terrible and could have done better with a different actor.

This movie was good if you accept it for what it was, but the Director openly admitted he didn’t really put any passion into this film and I think it would’ve did a much better job if it had a better Director

Dragonball Evolution is a shameful remake of the popular manga series “Dragon Ball”. It didn’t get anything right, the plot was completely messed up and major events that happened in the manga were switched around. The special effects were mediocre at best which makes sense for the time of this movie’s release. This film was confusing, enraging, boring, and more. As a long time Dragon Ball fan, I can tell you that it is not worth a watch.

It is fascinating the changes they decide to make to the story. They do everything in their power to make this story more generic and less interesting. I want to be in the meeting where they thought having Goku go to high school dealing with bullies was a good idea. The effects are awful, the acting is awful, the story will take mindless detours that wastes the audience and character's time. Not being faithful to the source material is one thing but being this bad is something else entirely. It really is something that has to be seen to be believed. It is the car crash that you can't help but stop and stare. It is a disaster so bad, no amount of Shenron wishes would be able to save it.

As an Action movie it’s boring and unintentionally hilarious and as a adaptation it’s downright insulting

One of the most notoriously bad live-action adaptations of anime ever. Doesn't respect the source material in the slightest, and the story it replaces it with is cliché-ridden and terribly written. Furthermore the special effects and CGI are clumsy at best and the fighting scenes embarassing. If you're a Dragonball fan, avoid watching this movie at all costs, and if not, only watch this if you enjoy watching bad movies.
