Earwig Reviews
E aquele fim?? Nossa, decepcionante.
Of course he is the father but what if a man cannot father beyond the limit of caretaker what a household looks like is visualised well the silence the heartbreaking loneliness of Mia may talk to many of us. Melting ice with anxious eavesdropping signals the child is a burden for Albert. He deface his lover scarring her for being unable to get rid of his burden, she still follow Albert leaving fortunes and getting pitied with free drinks thats the low she falls to be with him. Celeste scars him for life same as herself through which they become one. Outward grpahic nature induce the natural perspective of the society towards such a union. Earwig is a love story that cries for us the tears of living through life.
When you don't have any story to tell, you start to depend on cinematic techniques. Director has created a very intense atmosphere for sure. The sound design was very good but can't say the same thing for the storytelling. Because there is none. The whole movie is like a lesson for students about "how to use cinematic techniques to create unquestionable art movies". Probably this is her style. This was my first Lucile Hadzihalilovic movie. Probably will stay as the last one.
The first 30 minutes had no dialogue, it was effectively depressing and it then dragged on for another 90 minutes without any entertainment value.. the visual art will leave you feeling like you wasted 2 hours... I read somewhere that this feels like a David Lynch piece, but more dark and loose, I agree.
Is it too much to ask what and why? I'd like a sequel and a resolution to this story that had no ending.
