First Blood is an excellent introduction to John Rambo—one of the most haunted yet capable action icons. His background as a Vietnam vet is a crucial element of the story, especially since the antagonists—the cops—harbor nothing but disdain for him. What ensues are the consequences that arise when the law falsely targets an innocent man. Stallone, in the lead role, adequately portrays a tortured soul, while the cops on his trail are power-hungry and malicious.

Sometimes you have to overdo something going on in the world in the form of this film to expose flaws in our world. Every police officer in this country that has seen this film has an opinion - and should!

Without a doubt this was Stallone approaching the apex of his prime! First Blood has got heart & soul. Sly insisted on doing his own stunts and broke his ribs when falling from the top of the pine tree. When he yelled: "Oh Jesus!" that was him in real pain. First Blood is a great watch. We are blessed to have performers like Stallone.

By today's standards, it may look old. But the importance of this movie should not be underestimated, or underappreciated. Support our troops. Yes, we all do, but this movie is when didn't. And this movie is why we do. And its a good movie too.

His smile at the start of the film is the only smile you’re going to get from Rambo for 5 classic movies. A tragic action hero who eats things that makes a billy go puke.

Solid performance by Stallone. Definitely my favorite movie of his. Absolutely riveting from start to finish, it never lets up. I got a chance to see it in the theater when it first came out and I was glued to the screen!

A solid survival action on the surface, and certainly poignant for the time. The last 4-7 minutes of the movie without exception are where all the meat is at in terms of message, so take that as you will for better or worse.

A great action packed thrill. But a thrill with dark meaning. The most memorable part is not the gunfire and the explosion's but the poignant talk where Rambo pours himself out to is OC about the PTSD he has had to injurer.

I mean it’s John Rambo, it’s an absolutely brilliant movie which is action packed and touches on subjects relevant today…don’t forget the abuse of police powers which are brilliantly acted by all….’why you pushing me’ …LOVE IT!
