The Flying Scotsman Reviews
Nice to see a film about a sport that usually doesn't get much attention. Good biopic.
The twist to this sports movie is that Obree battles depression and uses cycling as a way to deal with it. Definitely worth watching, though sometimes a bit jumpy. Great cast.
I'm lacking in showing the life of sir Obree in a film, but on the other hand the said pic actually manages to inspire its viewers...
enjoyable film based on World Champion cyclist Graeme Obree. Details his struggles to get to the top, with the people who run cycling and his own personal demons. Worth a watch
Nothing special. And, as an American, my hand was constantly on the rewind button so I could understand all the Scotish accents. Noot m'eh fehvrut moovie, bu' it wus a gud sturie.

A cycling film, so brownie points anyway for that. It's very much a typically British 'small man against the System' movie with an upbeat narrative arc. Lots of good information if a little obscure in places; dark, too, given Obree's bipolar disorder and suicidal tendencies. Interesting to have a film like this about a living person. I checked out his Wikipedia entry and website: he's still at it.
I liked the raw un-hollywood-ized feel of the movie as well as the content that inspires a person to never give up.
Such a great movie. The story is phenomenal, and I could relate to the main character. wow, a must watch for any avid cyclists who think anyone can become a hero. Fly on!
Another one sport movie - this time there is the fastest scot on two wheels powered by legs. It's a interesting true story - maybe a little in cheap finish but enjoyable.
Never really becomes anything remarkable but I like the theme of feverishly trying to make your dreams come true even if they seem foolish.
I remember seeing Obree using his radical bike in the early 90's. This film shows all the things not only a professional sports person goes through, but also a regular man with mental health issues. A brilliant watch, even for those who have never followed him or the sport.
The underdog story in cycling, just like Rocky in boxing. There is nothing special about the movie, but it's a true story and It has heart.
