An intriguing thriller that's nevertheless built along some incredible plot contrivances.
It's good even if you didn't know that this was the seed of Christopher Nolan
The beginning of the genius, Christopher Nolan.
This is one of Christopher Nolan's first movies and it's still got his style.
I think Nolan's time play is normally a benefit to his plot devices but in this case it was rather confusing. Some really big plot holes and nonsensical character choices made this a little disappointing. Points for more/better than low budget feel and acting for what we know about this movies limited production.
A good movie with a great, yet sordid, story. The story about a man who follows other people on the street somewhat innocently and with few repercussions until one day he follows a different kind of guy. This guy confronts him and eventually reveals that he has other plans for him. From here, the story has a few twists and becomes increasingly more sordid. This is a small budgeted movie and it has its problems. Having said that, it has a few great scenes. Some of the photography is beautiful, particularly the shots with grain. Other shots are too dark, thought. The acting is very good.
Many consider it one of Nolan's worst, but I think it is one of his best. It may be very low budget and small but it's some of his best writing and has a genius ending.
Definitely a unique movie but not for me. It also screams directorial debut
Great movie. Christopher Nolan debut film. So interesting.
A great Nolan film thats nice and short but is a Nolan movie though and though
crazy movie. The set up kept getting trickier.
Not too bad. Kinda interesting, but everything just screams "first movie".
Following stands as Christopher Nolan's first venture into filmmaking. Although it is sometimes deemed a student film due to its limited budget, this film is way ahead many student films in many aspects. With $6,000 at his disposal and a concise 60-minute runtime, you can observe the early stages of Nolan's distinctive filmmaking style. While the script may lag at times, as well as the acting, it still has the carefully constructed plot with a twist or two often found in many if not all of Nolan's works. For the lovers of Nolan, diving into this film provides a valuable look into his progression and how far he has traveled in his cinematic journey.
Most underrated movie I've ever watched. Give it a chance :)
Nolan made this film with a very little budget and you can see it's limitations but it's still really impressive what Nolan was able to do with so little money.
For Nolan's directorial debut, I think it's solid. Ending was great tho. 7/10
Nolan's maiden work, elegant British accent.
Well structured with good speed and great transitions.
Not bad Christopher Nolan a descent first film
