Founders Day Reviews
Why the haters, yes definately ‘thanksgiving’ vibes but if you like that film you will love this….cracking movie, really enjoyed it…kept me completely engrossed…if anything it just lacked a recognisable actor to take it up that level, but overall just excellent . I hope we get a sequel!!
It is an throwback of the by gone era of 80s slashers but it’s low budget and mediocre script makes it kinda a bore
Yeah, the kills aren’t that amazing, nor is the makeup (overall), but the story is a good “who done it”. The characters are ok, the art direction makes this movie distinguishable from other slashers, and the plot actually catches you off guard. It’s good enough.
If the Hallmark channel attempted to make a slasher flick, this is it. Dialogue was horrid at times. The acting was forced and seemed as though the actors read their lines for the first time 30 seconds before the director called "action". The "clashing" protesters scene was right out of a terrible television commercial with horribly acted fist shaking and mean mugging. Basically a teen drama.
I was expecting so much more
It's a pretty good slasher movie. One of those movies where it is a quick and nice watch. Prob not going to revisit it, but it was cool. Could have never guessed the plot twist at the end. It was a pretty good movie with some good kills. One thing I like about this movie is the story and how it did not hold back with the blood. Pretty good movie overall so I gave it 4 stars. (I also love how the killer uses a gavel that has a detract able knife to kill people)
The film overall was just dull, the kills were not particularly interesting which for a slasher is a waste The story in general was weak, the character motivations didn't make a huge amount of sense throughout the film The gavel weapon was cool?
This pretty much takes a few notes from the most recent slasher Thanksgiving But it focuses on a murder spree during the election campaign On Founder's Day a mayoral election is underway and someone in a red mask is killing off citizens in a small town called Fairwood Who could the killer be? The first victim is Alison's girlfriend This acts as a sociopolitical satire; a look at how a town can become an echo and how they view people in power, does anyone care pretending like they do?, there's always a new chapter to start over but can it be better? The kills are really cool and I like the mask this slasher has using a friendly image of an American forefather striking fear into his victims along with a mallet as weapon of choice The twist reveal I definitely did not see coming I'll give credit to the writers for keeping it a good secret A majority of these characters come across as unlikeable though so the only real one to root for is Alison by Naomi Grace The tone is very inconsistent struggling to find a balance There's far better slashers out there than this one so it does its job okay enough despite being highly forgettable
No one cares about these characters.
Omg. This was not very good. I don't think it had very good acting and the only good thing about it was one of the kills. I can't say much more but 1.8/10
Bad acting, No character development, and lack of thrills are the ingredients of a bad slasher film. Although I do have a soft spot for the bad slasher flick, unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. No originality, the kill scenes are unimaginative and even the chase scenes are somewhat laughable. The film doesn’t know what it is, is it horror? Is it comedy? Is it satire? Unfortunately it was none of the above.
I love this thriller movie you find out 6 minutes of the movie who is the killer is
A familiar but effective slasher mystery that's held up from being a forgettable flick by having a fun cast and slick mystery full of twists and turns.
It was good. Not sure why all the haters. It was a fun ride and don't take it so seriously!
"Horrible movie!! Simple as that. "
I don't come across a movie this bad very often but I gotta say Founders Day is really bad. The acting, editing, and everything else were just not good. The writing was all over the place, and even though it looks like a scary movie, the way the actors performed made it seem more like a parody and not scary at all.
lol. just…… no. that was…. just…….. no.
