SkyRo P "Frozen Hot Boys" is a foreign film that is labeled as a drama, but due to its subtitles and dubbing, it often feels more comedic than serious. I found the film to be quite disappointing, and here’s why: it revolves around troubled teens placed in a group home or camp designed to address their behavioral issues. However, this setting is undermined by the chaos these kids create, with some even having committed serious crimes like murder. It seems illogical that they would be in a rehabilitation facility instead of a prison. The movie fails to explore these deeper issues. While there’s a brief fight scene, the majority of the film focuses on ice sculpting as the teens aim to form a team to compete in a national championship and earn scholarships. The title, "Frozen Hot Boys," seems like a mistake made during the typing process. Referring to troubled teenagers as "hot boys" feels inappropriate, especially in a film that is meant to explore their struggles and quest for rehabilitation. Instead of engaging with serious themes, the title and the film's overall tone come off as comedic. The dubbing adds to the silliness, and the plot is lackluster at best.
