Hanoi Jane is her usual no talent self. Go back to Vietnam. The other actresses are shrill and annoying.

I honestly think this is a real and accurate depiction of someone dealing with childhood sexual abuse. It didn't feel tacky or played, too comedic or dramatic. It tied the line between the two, as that is what everyday life is like, even for someone dealing with something extremely traumatic. I think Lindsay Lohan did play the role authentically where I cared for her struggles yet understood why she kept pushing people away with her actions + her sensitivity with her mother. Jane Fonda was compelling as a no-BS grandmother figure that impacted her daughter; thus, how her daughter raised her granddaughter. It's an interesting 3-generational story with women learning to make compromises, listen to each other's vulnerabilities and be kind to one themselves & the world.

I completely disagree with most of these reviews. This is a refreshingly honest film about difficult topics. It is not a comedy!! I thought the acting was fantastic and I found the the depiction of the complicated nature of alcholism and sexual abuse were handled in some of the best ways I have ever seen on screen. I would highly recommend.

What a very strange movie very emotional very strong storylines but very weird as well

Worth creating an account to review. It's not impossible you thought this would be the kind of film that made Lindsay Lohan famous - and wanted to watch only that kind of film - and so were disappointed; to me that would explain the reviews complaining about its treatment of its subject matter. The reviews are right about how entertaining were both Lindsay Lohan as uberslut, and fabulous Jane Fonda, trying to wash your mouth out to make room for some more family values. If this was a film with a message, it was about forgiveness in all its forms, making its central point of the film with deftness and lightness of touch.

It was so uncomfortable to see how they handled such a delicate matter as child abuse. Very disturbing and distasteful!

One of Lindsay Lohan's best performances. Should've been nominated for an Oscar for this, that's how good she was! Great movie!

I really enjoyed this film as a teenager! I liked the small town charm and the scenery! As an adult I realised how devastating the story line is... well acted

Quirky but a cute chick flick Mother daughter movie

I don't know why people are confused by the story or see this film as atrocious. It's certainly territory that has been covered before, the acting is good, and it even has it's humorous moments. It does lag a bit at times, but overall not that bad. Serviceable

First of all the cast is amazing. Now has a confusing script but is if had a better script i'm am sure that this will be one of the best movies of lohan. The cast is awsome I think that the movie is good but not enough. Is the most serious movie of lindsay and in there she And here she showed what she is capable of and did not give her full potential but she gave us a taste of what a more talented lindsay could have been and the plot seems to me that if it had a better script it would be an incredible movie 10 out of 10 actors, 8 out of 10 the plot, 10 out of 10 everyone's acting and 7 out of 10 the script

It's pretty wacky to enjoy when not reveling in the now controversial cast.

Completely unpredictable, "Georgia Rule" is proof that reading a book, listening to music is certainly the best option.

As a woman who is highly outspoken, independent, ambitious, and "strong", I absolutely love the representation in this movie. I can see that a great majority of critics has lambasted the film, but THIS MOVIE is a representation of who I am. I am neither weak nor graceful, I am neither lost nor in ambitious, I am not an attention seeker nor am I pitiful. Instead, just like Rachel, I am resilient and an unapologetic survivor of child sexual abuse. I do not expect MOST people to understand how it damages your mind to be an intellectually fierce woman yet be helplessly violated in your youth. Georgia Rule addresses these doubts through the lens of a rebellious and strong willed young woman who is yet to discover her full potential.
