Alissa Simon Variety Pic's main problem is that its human story lacks drama; Hachi's the central attraction. Apr 29, 2010 Full Review Robbie Collin News of the World This is the film equivalent of Nice biscuits, or snow globes, or N-Dubz. You're vaguely aware that they exist but you don't know anyone who actually likes them. Rated: 2/5 Mar 16, 2010 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard It(TM)s an extraordinary and touching story but told with too beady an eye on the box-office for comfort - even if you(TM)re a doggy person. Rated: 2/5 Mar 16, 2010 Full Review Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) There's not a whole lot going on, it's pretty much just this relationship, between this dog and this man and it's really touching and and beautiful. Jul 2, 2019 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) We all know Marley & Me is the Citizen Kane of dog movies that can drain all tear ducts. However, this one (also based on a true story) runs an honest, heartbreaking second. Милана С «Hachi: A Dog's Tale» is a 2009 British-American drama film, a remake of the Japanese film The Story of Hachiko. The original film tells the true story of Hachiko's dog, a Japanese Akita Inu dog who for 9 years came to the train station every day at the same time to meet his deceased owner. The film was directed by Lasse Hallstrom. It cost $16,000,000 to make the film. Briefly on the content of the film: Returning home from work, a college professor found a cute Akita Inu puppy at the train station. The professor and Hachiko became loyal friends. Every day, the dog accompanied and met the owner at the train station. Until the death of their master separated them. But the dog could not understand that he would not meet his friend again and continued to wait for his return. Personally, I really liked this movie because of its soulfulness. I was amazed at how strong the friendship between a human and a dog is. I would also like to mention the cast (Richard Gere, Joan Allen, Sarah Roemer, Jason Alexander and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). On «Rotten Tomatoes», the film has a 64% rating based on 28 reviews with an average rating of 5.88/10. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/25 Full Review Rosemary P I love this film. It is so moving. If you are a dog lover (or animal lover, for that matter) you will understand, believe me ... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/25 Full Review Jennifer B If you have a heart, this dog “tail” will warm it! When I need a cleansing cry, this is my go to! Dogs are The Best! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Pip S Ok, you might cry, you know.
