Hanna P i really wanted to like this movie but at sometimes the camera work wasn't that good and the special effects in this movie worked and some parts worked and alot didn't and some of the acting were terrible and the stalking parts were fine in the dark probably. I liked the camera work during the road trip scenes. I feel like this movie could of been better. Especially it being a low budget film. I would give this a 1/10 and this movie is an intense indie low budget horror movie Hacksaw. The acting was terrible and probably felt forced and i was disappointed with this low budget movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/24/25 Full Review Audience Member This movie tackled my curiosity in every way. I love trailers that hint on the synopsis without summarizing the entire film. The twist in this movie was so good. Throughout the film, I found myself continuously figuring out the ending, but being wrong every time! And I'm really good at that for my endless Superhero movies I have a home. The acting was great and the budget was on point for what the filmmakers were trying to achieve here. I feel this film was non-stop thrilling and entertainment. A perfect execution by a first-time filmmaker on a shoe string budget. Well done! 10/10 to the entire cast and crew. Please give us part 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member If I am to be honest, I will start with the positives. I liked the homage to the original texas chainsaw. Most of the movie felt like the 1970s and the style seemed unique. Ashley and Tommy had chemistry and their relationship was believable. The movie had several exterior shots that I favored. My favorite part was Ashley getting grabbed after they entered the building. I actually got chills for how real that part felt. However, the rest of the movie was pretty upsetting to watch. Since I only watch DIsney movies. Personal favorite. fyi. I can handle some shock value, but I found myself disgusted with too much gore. The movie gave me nightmares and I didn't expect that. I'm still scared. Hacksaw left nothing to my imagination like the new Star Wars movies, which I cherish every day. That's true filmmaking. There were parts in Hacksaw that made me feel sick. I had to go to the bathroom several times during watching the film because I felt too sick inside. I do wish the film as a whole was more polished like a Marvel studios film for the comfort of audiences. Most of the color was flat because I know color editing and dialogue was hard to hear at times because I'm a pro audio mixer. Pacing seemed to drag from one scene to the next, leaving me waiting anxiously for the finale. If they had watched more Disney movies then I'm sure this could have been a homerun. Running at 70 minutes, this film could probably knock off 20+ minutes and been slightly more enjoyable like my cartoons I watch every Saturday morning with my cats. I like the intent of the movie too much to score it a 1, but the whole movie was sloppy. Leave it to me because I am a professional filmmaker who knows what real quality is. The technical misses made me feel like I was watching a cut too rough for festivals, much less a streaming distribution. I've sold allot of movies and scripts so I know exactly what I'm talking about. Trust me. I do hope Hacksaw is appreciated by the very small and specific niche that exists, but I would not recommend it to casual viewers, especially film critics or those with a weak stomach. I recommend them to watch all the films I have made instead. My movies make more sense in my opinion because I'm an artist. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A throwback to the old slasher films from the 80s. I look forward to seeing another installment to this new story. The gore was cool in the beginning and ending of the film. I do however wish the film could have been a little bit longer, felt a little too rushes to get everything done. I liked the lead actress and the creepy character, "Happy". Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the overall concept of this movie... I love the open road shots leone did here . Adding that scope & a few scenes were pretty phenomenal inside the building and tunnels. i wish the execution was done a little better... heavy B movie acting/dialog; it was hard to really get into it fully, but worth a watch as a horror fan. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I recommend this movie to the die hard horror fans who love Ultra Low budget indie horror. You can tell this movie was made for that audience. The movie had all the gore, the creepy locations, the cool music and a wtf ending. Die hard fans of the genre must watch.
