Jay g the movie and music was amazing im so glad i went Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/25 Full Review Karl and Sons Horrible screening courtesy of Regal Cinemas. Could barely hear the music which was the whole point of the film. Do better you clowns. The movie was great. Love you, Hans. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Addie That was so amazing! The music was out of this world, and it was really cool to hear from directors and actors and how their work coincides with the music and Zimmer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Kirby Could have stayed at the theater and watched this movie again and again and again. So grateful that those of us who cannot attend a concert in person have this movie to watch. WE LOVE HANS!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/25 Full Review Emre U Obviously, we all love Hans Zimmer's music. And the interviews were cute. However: 1) The soundscape felt narrow, almost like bad compression. I kind of noticed when I went to the actual live show (part of the same tour as the movie) issue with the sound being a bit distorted like it was turned up too loud. But in the movie, it more just felt like it wasn't recorded with a wide enough spectrum to capture all the instruments properly. The mids felt especially compressed with high ends kind of screeching (esp during Interstellar), and the bass was sometimes just not present. I was hoping that the sound quality would be better in a theatrical release with the benefit of fixing the audio mix. 2) My only other gripe (nothing to do with the theater or mixing, etc.) is that Hans interrupts the flow of his concerts to talk in between almost every track. I get that it's a different score, different experience, etc. But the momentum totally stops when he gets up to talk repeatedly. And having his speaking microphone just sit on his piano felt unprofessional... like dude, set it aside out of view. Plus, it felt way too choreographed with the women forcibly smiling while playing and looking into his eyes... almost felt creepy like he forced them to dance around. I contrast this with Yanni, for example (similar type of concert experience). Sure, he talks a bit between songs to give a little message or story... but he doesn't stand up and walk around the stage. Also, yes, his musicians are emotive and energetic, too. But it feels way more natural in his Acropolis & Taj Majal shows, for instance, than in this Zimmer concert. I've always hated when musicians have these plastered smiles that were almost definitely directed by some male (basically, "smile, honey"). Celtic Woman always irritated me in that regard. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/24/25 Full Review The perfect "Plan B" if you haven't been able to see Hans in concert! If you enjoy Hans Zimmer, as well as live digital/modern orchestra type music and movie scores, you will LOVE this film! As someone wanting to see Hans Zimmer live in concert, but has yet to have the opportunity to do so, this documentary / concert type film was the perfect compromise! It mixes just enough background interviews with other stars that he's worked alongside, with the majority of the film being live-concert performances from some of his most famous pieces. The running time was just over 2.5 hours but I could have easily watched another 2.5 hours! For those that are familiar, this film seemed like an old Yanni video on steroids! So much energy, talent, and emotion! I can't wait to watch it again! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/25 Full Review Read all reviews
