Happiest Season Reviews

Dec 27, 2024

Just another typical Christmas romance & family movie with a “lesbian” take. Plot is not great and story is not “heartfelt” at all… and a mean family will have their characters changed overnight? Adult siblings fighting for attention like that? The only touching part is what Daniel Levy said to Kristin Stewart out in the cold after the maniac family scene.

One of the better christmas movies on Netflix. Of course there is the typical trope of hiding a secret at christmas to your family and in real life it would be a red flag if your gf doesn't even admit she is your gf, so you should run and never look back, but this isn't the real world, but a christmas movie world, where even the worst of peopIe get it at the end and everything is good. Jane's character is really funny, by the way.

I truly believe that I havent seen a worse movie in my life. Dumbass plot, toxic relationships, and embarrassing dialogue.

It is a refreshing holiday movie: funny and heartwarming

A woman bring another woman to visit her parents in Christmas, and they don't suspect she is a lesbian? For real? "Don't underestimate the power of denial" American Beauty.

This is just sad and pathetic to watch someone out their partner into closet ( in every meaning of the way) to conform to her rich conservative parents.

I really like this one, it's really chill and a nice relaxing Holiday movie.

Happiest Season is one of the best Christmas I have seen in a while. It's constantly funny throughout and has some heartwarming moments. There are a few little things that hold it back from being great.

Wow, I'm like 20 min in. Such an awesome movie about privileged rich people, who only care about money, accolades and status. Oh the struggle 🙄 …….

The typical Christmas movie, dripping with morality and self-righteousness, with no surprises... except a big one: the cast! What are they doing in there? At least it keeps in suspense all along, hoping to discover the gem from the script that must have made such actors decide to be part of this. So we wait for a good 100 minutes, but the Christmas miracle does not come.. At least, we can enjoy seeing great actors on screen: Kristen Stewart, Victor Garber, Alison Brie, Mary Steenburgen and Mary Holland who plays a touching Jane.

The idea was good, a bit of the usual formula, and some good stuff in there but Kristen's girlfriend had no redeemable features at all. She was selfish, abandoned someone she supposedly loved, hung out with an ex, and all in all was not a good person. A layer of decency was missing. There was zero about her. Meanwhile Abby (KS character) was kind and tried her hardest to be supportive and understand the situation (created by the selfish GF). For once, when someone messes up this much, they should end it with a split. Let them go, the lesson being you cannot treat people like a doormat. Now that would be the perfect Christmas present !

Funny and heartfelt. Great themes around the dangers of maintaining a perfect persona.

Loved this movie! one of the freshest holiday movie I've seen in years. and once the best cast.

Decent movie but I probably would've liked it more if I was gay (then it would have been more relatable). It's about a lesbian couple and they both go to one girl's family for Christmas. But the girl hasn't come out to her family yet. She is hiding who she is. Actually, all the family members try to appear perfect and gain their parents' approval. Her girlfriend nearly breaks up with her, but then she realizes that love is more important than her parents' approval. She comes out. Her sister also admits that she is getting a divorce (even though she has 2 kids with the husband). The parents realize that loving and supporting their children is more important than appearing perfect. They don't want their children to keep secrets from them anymore.

A fresh take on a Christmas movie. I laughed, cried, and really enjoyed it.

There is no reason to root for their relationship. The toxicity of Harper and her family goes way too far. By the end I had zero interest in rooting for Harper and did not want to see her with Abby.

This movie is awful un-funny garbage.
