Heavy Metal in Baghdad Reviews
- [ ] It was a really good movie. Very instructive. I really liked it. I will watch it again later. Also, I really like the small details of the movie.
I’ve never seen a Documentary this good.
Using the fiery medium of heavy metal music to explore the tragedy of the war in Iraq, as well as the tiredness of it, this is a powerful documentary that will change your outlook on not only a severely misunderstood genre of music but the futility of war. This is the ultimate kind of peaceful protest wrapped in a passionate and chaotic package. I really enjoyed this film from top to bottom.
The daily struggles these guys go through to conquer even the simplest of tasks is incomprehinsible.
Very interesting documentary... I just didnt like the film maker who depresses the viewer. Im not sure if the film wanted to highlight the music or the environment, regardless there was too much of each to get clarity on either.
Heavy metal in baghdad is a brilliant example of even people in the middle east are affected by terrorists way more than us paranoid americans.Acrassicauda(the only metal band in baghdad actually doing something) has gone through more ups and downs than most bands do.This movie also is a good inside non fox news bullshit view on what is really going on in iraq. But the documentary is about following or staying in toug=ch with the band has they have to make harsh decisions trying to achieve there dreams.
Another eye opening documentary showing the other side of a war through the lives of a bunch of young people with the dream of rocking in a free world. Some of the bands obstacles and problems reminded me of similar situations back in early days of the so called metal scene of Cyprus.
Being a metal lover myself, I was looking forward to this movie as kind of a nice little movie about a band from Iraq. When I saw the movie however, I saw sadness, hard work to stay alive, and a band that would not give up on their dreams. The story follows Acrassicauda, the only band in iraq. It's all about their struggle in a war ridden Baghdad to entertain in this time of sorrow and pain. The band and their music are great. Their sound kind of harkens back to Metallica's old Master of Puppets days, good stuff. And the documentary and all that those guys had to go through to film it really shows.
