The movie was hard to keep up with, and it lasted too long.
3 or 4 stars...., or more. I liked it, but the presumed sublime plot makes it unusual, but a very good film, but not so much a movie....not an art film either. Unique. Good. See it.
I felt it was very confusing. too much back and forth and trying to follow it.
A romantic story that I haven’t seen told this way before. Although the plot wasn’t super interesting it was very romantic and emotional
Did not like the story line. Hard to follow
I loved it my husband had difficulty following it
I love Tom Hanks. I found the movie to be a little difficult to follow at time. It was too much jumping back and forth.
it unique way to present a storyline
I thought the movie was absolutely beautiful. I hope more people will watch it.
Watch it for the true-to-life story. Tom is Tom. He is fantastic. History buffs will appreciate this film as will anyone who understands what its like to be a mom or caretaker.
Great movie! Tom Hanks never disappoints with his acting.
It wasn’t a waste of a theater trip, necessarily, but it was a weird watch. The whole thing might’ve worked a lot better as a play. There’s some overacting and cringe moments as the movie tries to be way too many things at once. Quite a few very broad themes done too quickly to be truly impactful— it all leaves the viewer asking “okay?” It feels like it’s trying very hard to be deep and show off, but just falls flat.
I liked the message they delivered on life and how each generation is different but disliked how the move was only in a living room, no difference in screen view is hard to sit and watch.
Cool idea, poor execution. I sat through it all but should have walked out. Terrible waste of my time and money.
Amazing movie!! Truly not understanding so many bad reviews..
Excellent film with a simple, but brilliant conceit. Zemeckis is one of the greats.
One of the most original and creative movies I've seen in years. Interest is held from the very beginning until the credits appear - with NO lapse in the story line or the activity portrayed. Told in flashback mode, the interlacing of time and characters is outstanding, and the cinematography and sets seamlessly blend in support of the story. I am definitely going back for a repeat viewing.
The movie blends various moments from different eras into simultaneous frames, turning the screen into a gallery of life across time. But constant back and forth in time wouldn't really allow you to connect to anybody, gradually you kinda get bored. Excellent general idea and visuals (including computer making younger/older visages of principal characters and room interiors/scenography), but rather mediocre embodiment, imho.
Artistic in concept, moving and thoughtful in its execution. And Tom Hanks and Robin Wright are dynamite together, just as they were 30 years ago!
Nice idea but did not like the back and forth of eta of people.
