The acting in this movie is great & this Nicole Kidman resurgence is now something I am on board for. While the plot is interesting & the misdirection is fun to investigate.. the pace of the move followed by some lack of detail may lose some people. If you’re not in a rush, this is a fun watch.

A stale, small town thriller that plays it straight down the middle for its duration.

One step up and the next stage two steps back... Someone wrote the script where he/she was nor belonged and the movie is all over the place.

The movie started out fairly decent. As a person with Dutch heritage it was neat to see all the Dutch references in the movie. It seemed like it started to spiral into nonsense about halfway through. She enlists one of her colleagues from work to help her find proof that her husband is cheating on her and in the process starts cheating on him with her colleague. The ending is your standard cliched ending of this movie type. I think it would have been better and more interesting if she actually found nothing on her husband and it was just her imagination carrying her away...or if her colleague ended up being what she found out.

Awful. Nicole Kidman looks every bit of her 57 years. She needs to play more age appropriate roles. The movie was lacking suspense and a decent writer. Awful.

The story is not interesting.

It was murder watching this dross.

This movie was long to watch , the story as potential but poorly executed.

It’s similar to a ver poorly written and constructed M. Night Shamalama movie without a resolution. It’s as bad that it fights for lady place with the worst movie ever made…..The Lobster.

Strange movie, was sorry I didn't bail out early, the end is weak and makes no sense.

Boring movie, kept on waiting and waiting for the movie to pick up a bit.

Nicole needs to take a break.

I fell asleep during it.

Simply awful. Nicole Kidman was too old for this role, though there's no denying that she looks good. Their idea of irony was her beating her Dutchman husband to death with a wooden shoe. Ha. Ha. Yeah, I get it. Wooden shoe, wooden story. It took us two nights of dedicated effort to get through this mish-mash. Don't waste your time.

Holland is all aesthetic, no soul. Mimi Cave crafts a gorgeous façade of Midwestern kitsch, but behind the tulips and tilt-shift shots is a thriller that forgets to thrill. Nicole Kidman does her best as a housewife unraveling the truth about her husband, but the script gives her nothing real to work with. Themes of suburban repression, illusion, and control are hinted at, then abandoned. The pacing is a slog, the twists are recycled, and the ending tries to be ambiguous but lands as hollow. A model train set of a movie: intricate, artificial, and lifeless.
