This movie is so funny I love it and it’s my number one favorite movie of all time.

Hot Rod - 8/10. This is one of the most random movies I’ve ever seen, and yet, it makes total sense. Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island have made some comedy gold over the years thanks to their work on SNL and post their tenure there. Hot Rod happened to be their initial work outside of SNL, and I’m surprised as to how on brand this movie is. Easily, this could’ve went a generic route and made easy comedic scenes and jokes. But, Hot Rod really adheres to the Lonely Island schtick. There’s goofy humour, repetitive gags, obnoxious caricatures, and hilarious set pieces here (that “babe wait” scene is one of the funniest elongated jokes in a movie in the 2000’s in my personal opinion). Its also a movie that I feel wouldn’t work for people that don’t know Samberg’s early brand of humour. Something as simple as seeing a daredevil wannabe trying to be a big time stunt guy works here, and its thanks to Sandberg’s ridiculously over the top performance. He’s sort of seasoned now as a comedian, but what I really appreciate here is that even in his first major role, he really works hard to not fray from his trademark humour. Its just a goofy and ridiculous movie, one that might feel like an elongated SNL skit, but still works for the most part. Funny and fun!

I've been re-watching comedies I used to love. Unfortunately this one doesn't hold up quite as much. Kind of bro-y humor, I wish they gived some of the ladies more of a chance to shine.

Easy watch. I love the opening jump sequence. Everytime i plan to watch 10 min, I end up finishing the whole movie. Irreverent and endlessly entertaining. Plus, Isla Fisher is hot...

The humour is way too slow, jokes drag on forever, sometimes for minutes. When they're not slow, they feel incredibly forced. Timing is very important in comedy, yet the pacing in this film is terrible, not a single joke lands like it should. The acting is also terrible, everybody feels like they're doing an SNL skit in front of a live audience. The story is basically every story you've ever seen, the underdog hero trying to achieve a dream or save something by raising money, you'll find this plot in any Disney 온라인카지노추천 movie. I can't recommend this to anyone, it's too slow and stilted for kids to enjoy and too juvenile, repetitive and stupid for adults to enjoy.

It's not great, but there is plenty of ridiculousness to keep it's fans laughing at it's dumb premise.

The script of Hot Rod seems more suited for a stage like Saturday Night Live, where it can freely indulge in illogical and foolish humour. However, when this style is brought to the big screen, the movie becomes awkward and lacks emotional investment, resulting in a comedy disaster.

the bad reviews from audience and critics prove nothing. nothing at all. if i had to choose the funniest movies ever, this would be in my top three. this movie is hilarious with a funny plot that holds up. don't believe both of those percentages.

Critics claiming this is anything like Jackass completely missed the point of the movie - it is a spoof of the genuine stuntmen archetype, NOT the"pranksters" of JA. Hot Rod is actually a comedy with a hell of a lot of heart... It's about a young man trying to win his stepdad's respect, despite being conflicted by his own paternal loss. At the same time, the kid is hilariously deluded about his own ability. In this way, it blends the realistic with the ridiculous, as some of the best comedies do. There are some big laughs and the concept of the "deluded stuntman" is so funny that it prompted a whole genre of YT videos... "Life's short, stunt it!"

It's obviously not to be taken too seriously, but this movie is full of non stop action comedy and is great fun to watch. You get the impression that Rod and his crew have no sense of self preservation what so ever and are up for just about any idea that pops into their heads. I particularly liked the 80's pop soundtrack featuring Europe amongst others. The music compliments the action perfectly giving an overall sense of invincibility which was cool to watch. The AM radio sponsor was really funny too, ironically aligning his stations future with Rod's big stunt. My only critisism is that Rod's relationship with his step father is a bit too OTT, but otherwise I really liked the movie. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most amazing movies ever, from the many reference of other 80's movies to the absolute goofiness of it all, this is a must see movie for anyone that wants to have a good time, and a lot of critics don't know what a good time is (also, it's easier to talk about the negatives of something rather than the positives) and they're missing out. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WATCH THIS MOVIE WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!!!
