The film is beautiful and so sensitive!

A great movie about France. The actors did a nice job. Scorsese is a fantastic director. It was about a train station and George Melies movies. Sacha Baron Cohen was funny.

I would give this zero stars if I could. I bought this movie for my 4 kids and within 5 minutes there complaining to me about how bad the movie is. So I watched it for myself and I tried watching it fully but couldn't the plot is garbage and the movie itself is extremely boring, WARNING THIS MOVIE IS TERRIBLE!!!

wow really engaging after a decade a huge surprise from Scorsese he did state he wanted to make a film for his kids and he suceeded; he managed to make a movie that appeals to both children and adults holding a complex storyline, great child actors, beautiful cinematography, and wonderful acting Chloe Moretz can still act and I applaud her so much it sucks Jude Law only enters for 5 min in flashbacks I did dig Sascha Baron Cohen as the Inspector, looked goofy and was fun I really thought this movie was going in one path but then it turned around and became very engrossing it made me feel very nostalgic about the good ol' fashioned era of cinema and kept me smiling Scorsese really gets the imaginative side of things nailed down while reminding the audience why things start out in our minds and eventually make their way to the public eye some people may be bored to death, me I wasnt

Slow paced film I can see others enjoying but just not the kind of film for me

The most beautiful a movie can be shot is Hugo. The colors are vivid and have texture, but aren’t so bright as to seem unrealistic. Each shot should be framed and hung in an art gallery.

Called a children's movie by RT??? Only superficially. True, two central characters are children. But it is a film which can only fascinate anyone in love with cinema. Inventive, whimsical, but also deeply reflective. It got a five star rating from us two seasoned cinephiles. You will also enjoy the many scenes from Lumiere, Melies and the early history of cinema, expertly integrated into a story about time, memory, childhood and old age, social conformity and creative freedom....

An impersonation of a European film that comes off as boring and bland. Yes, impressive cinematography, but little else. Outside Kingsley, no strong performances.

A beautiful tribute and visual treat.

I honestly hated this movie.

Personally, this movie is not the best, Hugo had such a great backstory for him to become a strong character, but he ended up lacking a lot of emotion which is something crucial to his character due to his past. The plot was quite good but towards the end it was quite rushed, which kind of ruined it for me. The actor for Isabelle, Chloe grace Moretz, did a good job portraying her character, she was very similar to the book. The camera and lighting were terrible, which was most likely due to the small film budget but still, you would think it would be a little bit better and the effects and the CGI... well that is something. Overall, I give this movie a 3/10 and it would not be something I would watch ever again.

If I’ve said it once, then I’ve said it at least once. I hate movies Hollywood makes about how great Hollywood is and we should appreciate it more. Make better movies. This one is not good. Not good at all. Not good. Bad. Very bad. It’s bad. Okay, to be honest, I made it through 10 minutes. Maybe it gets better. But I’m sure it doesn’t. It’s bad.

The cinematography and the story is so good! An amazing homage to the history of film. It's become one of my comfort films that I return to from time to time.

Exciting movie for the whole family, with beautiful setting, magical filming and actors that give life to the characters and a story magnificently. It is an immersive travel in a painted scenario with accurate details, where the plot is unveiled with the necessary suspance and great colors. The misteries and questions that the watcher wants to solve and get answers to are handled throughout the movie without making the story trivial or too hard to follow, in a perfect balance of suspence and curiosity. Beautiful and hearbreaking. A good mixture to keep the attention up and the spectators engaged!
