i wonder why it is rated 86% here in rotten tomatoes. this movie is a total waste of time. this not a horror movie, no jumpscare, not scary, no horror. no context, no storyline, slow paced, the panning of cameras in slow mode does not make sense 90% of the time. what's the role of the "fairy"? there's not even a lesson to learn here. the film's cinematography is way too dark allthroughout.

This has to be one of the worst movies I have seen in recent times..... there is no narrative, no storyline, horrible acting from all corners.... a solid waste of my time....

My expectations really lives up in this movie.

Filipino Pan's Labyrinth without the magic and, worst of all, a proper ending.

The material for this film was 💯 great the color grading, cinematography plus the acting kudos to Felicity napuli he's such a great actress and to all of the cast too although the film's story has a little bit similar to Guillermo del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth" film but it's nice seeing Filipino level up their movies.

Slow and atmospheric and gross

Ugliest movie ever!!! I liked bird box but this one, omg what a waste of time! Constant darkness, slow at it's best, 0 story, 0 reason to watch!

This has got to be one of the worst films I've seen recently. It starts off great with interesting folklore and historical backdrop but leaves you with absolutely zilch at the end. The ending is awful not because it's depressing, but because of the nonsensical choices the characters make in the last few scenes making me wish I could get my time back and have chosen not to watch this. Total waste.

In My Mother's Skin Doesn't just deliver a good storyline it also delivers great atmosphere, cinematography, lightning, visuals, and acting especially "Felicity Kyle Napuli" she really did a good act playing "Tala".

I liked the blend of historical and supernatural. I think that some of the turn-off for this film is the depiction of children in hardship. It was intended by the film-maker, but it is hard for some people, including myself, to see children suffer. Having said that, it is the suffering that makes this film intense. It is visually stunning to watch. I did struggle at times wondering why things were happening in this movie. It may be that I missed something and I will watch again. It is a traditional fairy-tale. What I mean by that is that it is not all sweet. The movie got better in the last hour. It is terrifying and disturbing.

It was a slow burn,atmospheric movie. They did get the details of the period (1945) perfectly. The acting ,especially from the kids were impressive. There are no jump scares. IT'S a dark, movie about greed, loss, violence, deceit and faith.

Philippines continues a strong showing in the horror genre, including movies like "The Queen of Black Magic." A film-like fairy tale in the vein of "Pan's Labyrinth" where a child meets a fairy and makes a fateful decision. Excellent atmospheric cinematography that doesn't skimp on the blood. Some unsettling choices drive this dark narrative where child actors give an amazing performance. Worth a watch!
