It's a Disaster Reviews

Watchable.....wasn't too funny though it tried......

Love this movie - I've seen it 5+ times because it's just so simple, easy to watch, and great story. It's fascinating watching the characters' reactions to the situation at hand. People will say that America Ferrara's Barbie performance is her peak, but this movie with her in the background coming to center, she's clearly the star. Love every part of it. If you like low budget films, sci fi, this is an absolute must in your film repertoire. There are no big effects, no crazy scenes - just a reflection of characters in a really problematic situation. Conclusion: Don't exclude single friends from brunch and always show up on time.

I really wanted to like this, and I did enjoy some aspects of it, but the ending does really hurt it. Years ago, I found myself burned out on happy endings, and then I got my wish many times over. Today, I just need good writing, and this film raised questions that it was not prepared to answer...as if it just got distracted and forgot to follow up, and then slapped together a climax that was unsatisfying...and that can be funny sometimes, but in this case, it wasn't. I think it was a bit of a miss on the whole, but it was nice to see Julia Styles hasn't lost her touch. Would I recommend this? How bored are you?

Brunch and the apocalypse.... not a bad combo, but which one is making the other more bearable is up for debate. The humor works well and it's not an entirely implausible scenario despite the gullibility with which they accept their predicament. Perhaps most surprising is that it doesn't become tired or wear thin and remains engaging throughout.

Seems like 90% of the dialogue was written just to eat up time. Weak characters. Dumb ending, too.

If you could possibly entertain the thought that in a true crisis, surrounded by close friends, you'd all spend most of your time caught up in petty bickering, very few laughs, and denial, this is the movie for you. Well acted though. BTW definitive endings are now a thing of the past?

Forgettable watch, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend. I just watched "Save Yourselves" and was hoping this would be as good, but I forgot I'd see it before. I'm a big fan of Julia Stiles and America Ferrera, and the rest of the cast is actually pretty good, but it's just such heavy subject matter, filled with the most petty relationship and friendship issues combined with the most boring aspects of being stuck inside a house, ignoring any of the "impending threat" aspects that would actually make it good. And it's not that those aspects aren't there, they're just minimized severely. Which makes the group's mental breakdowns and the ultimate resolution just strange.

Had to fast forward a few times. The characters were unrealistic and annoying. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really bored. The only thing I took away from it was the character reactions to the fallout sort of reflect the various reactions people are having now in the covid19 pandemic. I get it, I do...but it sucked.

It was a good character study but the low budget detail outside of the house hurt the movie. Didn't have a strong ending, it was ok.

Good title cause it was a disaster. There were funny parts but it was awkward and straNge.

The furthest thing from a cinematic disaster, were this pessimistic satire of bourgeois relationships made today, during an actual quarantine, the only change that would make it more realistic would be for these self-involved couples to brunch out in public. Social distancing today for everyone, but for these suburban narcissists, social distancing forever.

It was funny almost all the way through, but the lack of a resolution at the end really pissed me off. The instant the last scene was over, however, the perfect music came on. It was a reference from all the way from the beginning of the movie. Damn, I wish people would learn that the book of the Bible is not Revelations but revelation. Look at this, Google even capitalized Revelations. The book of the Bible called Revelation HAS NOOOOO S!!!

Meh. That's all I could think watching this. Just mediocre meh. Funny ending though

Thought-provoking movie as one considers how they might handle facing death, through laughter, dance, overeating, numbing the pain, or wrecking their brain out to find a solution even though in the bottom of despair.

Light movie, somewhat funny, character driven comedy with well written characters. It's not going to leave a mark on me but it wasn't a waste of my time either.

This isn't a laugh out loud movie, but I chuckled nearly this entire dark comedy, from the earliest moments when the people at a couples brunch are so self-absorbed that they are completely oblivious to the unfolding disaster around them, to their bumbling dysfunction in response to that disaster.

Clever, darkly funny and well-acted.

Ummm, okay? There WERE many funny parts in this movie - bust out laughing parts, but not enough to outweigh the weirdness and vulgarity of this bizzaro movie. And the end...really?? Meh.

I swear this isn't a bad movie but its not exactly a good movie either. Its right in the middle.
