Após matar um serial killer, Winnie vê a sua vida andar para trás. Revoltada, ela deseja nunca ter nascido. De repente, ela se vê em outro universo onde ela não nasceu, mas as coisas ficaram piores. Desde o trocadilho no título original, é impossível não ver que A Felicidade Não se Compra é a base dessa película, inclusive com os próprios personagens do filme assumindo isso. Aqui mesclada com a temática de slasher movies a la Pânico. Inclusive o assassino lembra muito o Ghostface, só que em vez de usar preto, ele usa branco e a sua máscara não tem expressão nenhuma. Até que visualmente é um assassino bem interessante, mas não acho que haverá continuação. O elenco é competente mas ninguém se destaca, a não ser Justin Long que faz o seu Henry Waters calcado em Donald Trump. O filme tenta mesclar a comédia e terror, mas nem sempre obtém bons resultados. Na parte do terror, até acerta no assassino e em algumas mortes bem visuais e com bastante sangue, mas não chega a assustar. Quando ao humor, apela para histeria e piadas formulaicas. Por fim, uma ideia interessante, já utilizada em outras produções, mas que não conseguiu todo o seu objetivo na mescla terror-paródia.

This is a slasher version of It’s a Wonderful Life and makes no bones about that. The main character (Winnie) kills a potential serial killer at the start of his spree. Instead of living happily ever after, a year on she finds herself with no boyfriend, unappreciated by her family and with no prospects. Like James Stewart before her, she finds herself on a bridge, considering throwing herself off. There is no angel here- the mechanism for the plot is never explained, although the Aurora Borealis seems to be connected to it. However it’s done, she finds herself in a would where she never existed and where the serial killer has been slaughtering people for a year. She builds up a friendship with the school weirdo, which results in a romantic sub plot. The two of them try to deal with the serial killer and get Winnie back to her real world. There are a couple of twists and turns to the plot. The slasher kills are formulaic, but well done. What makes this work is the acting, which is competent and the fact that the characters do sensible things. Some agreeable tension builds up and the villain of the piece is suitably crazed. It does suffer from over-sentimentality, but is still a good watch - and one where I was genuinely rooting for the characters rather than just hoping for a messy death.

this movie was kind of a let down. The casting was good Justin Long, Joel McHale, Katharine Isabelle and Jane Widdop. with a cast like that you think the movie would be good but that's were you are wrong. Justin Long overacted throughout the movie the other actors were not bad. the kills were cool. but what was wrong that there is a scene were Justin Long the bad guy has the people being mind controlled and they never tell you why or how. and the scene were the girl kills the guy without a fight scene in every slasher movie. the whodunit part was good but the rest not really. just if you want to watch this that's ok but its not a great movie.

Sakto lang. Ok sana na Christmas slasher movie kundi lang sa mga OA na pag ganap ng mga bida. Bukod tangi lang na si Justine Long ang ok sa pag arte. Oks din un concept nga na nabago ang buhay nya dahil sa pag wish sa aurora pero masyadong pilit lang talaga un pag arte kahit sabihin comedy horror pa to.

So dumb. Big fan of Justin Long in horror movies (Barbarian, Jeepers Creepers, Tusk, etcl) but this was almost unwatchable. Blonde main character is so annoying and everyone's acting is just so bad.

It's a nice premise but only an ok movie

A decent entry into the Christmas horror genre but doesn’t excel in any area. Nice to take the premise and turn it a bit more horror but doesn’t quite go far enough. Did like the cast but at times there could have been a bit more direction or control over the tone.

Loved this movie, it was really cool to see a feel-good slasher that focused on how horrible it is to feel alone in your depression and trauma. As someone who's contemplated suicide, and is LGBTQ2+, I felt really connected to the two main characters that were able to be there for each other; I really liked the idea that they're each Clarence for each other. I was impressed in how they were able to combine Hallmark with slasher; no easy task.

**2-Star Review: Such a Letdown** I love Christmas movies and slashers, so *It’s a Wonderful Knife* seemed like a perfect mix for me. Plus, with Joel McHale and Justin Long in the cast, I was hyped… but wow, what a disappointment. They barely get any screen time, which sucks because they’re the best part of the movie. The plot? Honestly, it’s pretty solid—had a lot of potential. But as a horror-comedy, it totally misses the mark. The jokes aren’t funny, it’s not scary in the slightest, and the writing is just… bad. Like, painfully bad. The acting? Meh. And for a slasher, where’s the gore? Where are the creative kills? It’s so tame it barely feels like a horror movie. This could’ve been such a fun, bloody, and darkly funny Christmas flick, but it’s just a wasted opportunity. I wanted to love it, but it’s just not good.

Stopped watching after 15 minutes. Same stupid tropes, same stupid characters.

Shudder and HULU present a slasher spin on the 1941 holiday classic adding a queer romance angle A large cast of unknowns minus Justin Long Winnie lives in a small town and it’s Christmas Eve But a serial killer wearing a faceless white Angel costume is hacking up the townsfolk Winnie finds out who it is but she feels so traumatized by the ordeal 1 year later she wishes she was never born, she believes everyone would be better off that way She gets turned down by college applications, her boyfriend cheated on her, and everyone is oblivious to what happened with the murders Yet some Christmas magic makes her wish come true and Winnie winds up in a reality where she never existed Her parents and her friends don’t recognize her, to make matters worse everyone still isn’t safe when a new white Angel killer is running amok Since there was no final girl he just keeps killing on a weekly basis She has to find out who this new killer is and find a way back to her own reality There’s great gore, some nice story twists, and a bit of holiday sentiment thanks to Tyler MacIntyre’s direction A majority of the film is also filmed dark and colorless to give off the cold, icy feeling It also says a lot about how an entire community can give up due to loss and giant business moguls taking over with governing fear A wonderful message of self-acceptance and self-love finding kinship among one another is also contained Everyone matters, nobody’s feelings should be ignored, and the holidays should be cause to come together not drift apart It’s very short and rushes through a lot maybe over explaining so much it gets convoluted but as far as slashers are concerned this is a fun jab at traditional holiday viewings with fans new and old having something to dip their toes in

This movie was absolutely unwatchable. I had such high hopes for adding it to my Christmas horror list but the completely overt social agenda was so over the top as to absolutely drown out any concept of actual horror writing. The main cast talent was wasted on a dull and uninspired script that basically ripped of the original named film without even a hint of originality or creativity. No twists, no turns, no nothing. No wonder this absolute bomb flew under the radar. No one wants in your face social commentary, they just want good old fashion horror.

One of the most boring movies i have ever watched. The movie moves at a snails pace, and the humor was non existent from this, "horror comedy". Do yourself a favor and just find something else.

The premise has potential, but it quickly unravels like a cheap string of Christmas lights, losing its spark before it even gets started.

It's a wonderful knife, doesn’t really know what it wants to be. Does it want to be a romantic story?, does it want to be an R-rated teen comedy?, or does it want to be a bit of science fiction? It is a really messy film. The killer outfit looks cool, don’t me wrong, but the rest just looks cheap in comparison. The cinematography is nothing and the editing is okay. And the gimmick they use it being I wish I was never born trope, really does nothing new that you haven’t seen before. I don’t know, but man was I disappointed. I wish that this movie was never made.

Omg it is literally impossible to get into this movie—it is over-the-top and completely unbelievable in every possible way. Havent seen a plot this terrible in such a long time and the dialogue is soo bad. Terrible premise, terrible writing, and horrible execution. Whatever you do skip

A delightful horror twist on the classic It’s A Wonderful Life concept. Excellent representation in characters that manage to be unique without feeling forced. Fans of holiday horror will enjoy this film.

DER DÜMMSTE KILLER DES JAHRES Ein als Weihnachtsengel verkleideter Killer hat die beste Freundin von Winnie getötet samt deren Opa. Kurz bevor der Killer auch ihren Bruder töten konnte, schaffte sie es diesen aufzuhalten. Ein Jahr später, zur Bescherung, bekommt Winnie nur einen pinken bauchfreien Trainingsanzug und ihr Bruder ein Auto, weil ihre Eltern denken das dies beide am nötigsten hätten. Daraufhin denkt Winnie es wäre besser wenn sie nie geboren wäre. Polarlichter machen dies möglich und Winnie wacht in einer anderen Welt auf. Dieser Film geht ca. 87 Minuten und ist ab 16 Jahren freigegeben. Wir bekommen hier eine Horror-Komödie die das Thema von "ist das Leben nicht schön" aufgreift, nen Killer reinpackt und fertig ist die Schlaftablette. Selten hab ich so einen bekloppten Killer gesehen, sogar der aus Scary Movie war intelligenter. Ein Beispiel, der Killer sticht seinem weibliches Opfer auf einer Brücke in den Unterarm, beide fallen hin. Statt dann aber auf sie einzustechen, teleportiert er sich weg (was er häufiger im Film macht) und will sie lieber von unten durch die Brücke erstechen, weisste Bescheid. Zumal sich weiß anzuziehen als Slasher dämlich ist, auch wenn er nie Blut abbekommt. Die Hauptfigur Winnie ist als einziges etwas sympathisch, bei den ganzen Figuren jedoch nicht schwer. In der Alternative sind die Leute nämlich traurig, bekifft oder doppelt traurig was mich traurig machte beim zuschauen. Das Finale ist dann die Erkenntnis wie toll doch alles war, wie das man seinem betrügerischen Freund alles gute wünscht, im verhassten pinkfarbenen Trainingsanzug die Außenseiterin küsst und seinen Eltern dankt das es sie gibt (obwohl sie lieber den Sohn bevorzugen). Am Ende bekommen wir keinen Horror, da der Killer ne Witzfigur ist und die Kills einfallslos. Eine Komödie steckt aber auch nicht drin, denn lustig ist hier nichts. Einzig die spontane Entscheidung von Winnie zur Lesbe zu werden hatte was. Von mir bekommt der Film 3,5/10 Punkte. Wer kennt solche Bösewichte nicht? Alles haben und zerstören wollen, geboren ist der König vom Aschehaufen.

Even if this is not scary at all, brings a story that i enjoyed.

Nothing special here at all. Pretty uninspired slasher movie.
