Jason Bourne Reviews
While ‘Jason Bourne’ doesn’t exactly set the world on fire or bring anything new to the action genre it is a serviceable film that certainly won’t bore its audience.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 10, 2025
With high-speed chases and fearsome fight sequences, the visceral spectacle charged with conflict and excitement, anchors nostalgia from the original three films.

Its rote construction and stakes that always feel like an arm-length away from stronger impact, “Jason Bourne” may be questionable enough to make us wonder if we’ve been seeing the same film four times now.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 4, 2023
It is a bit slow out of the gate, but when it gets its footing it falls right in line with the franchise.

When it's made with the level of energy that Greengrass applies, it's difficult not to be entertained.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Apr 11, 2022
While the weakest of the original three, Jason Bourne is still entertaining and good enough to warrant the price of admission.

Jason Bourne is more indecipherable and unformed than ever, with Damon not given much more to do than shoot, brawl, bleed and run.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Aug 18, 2021
Doesn't do anything new with the franchise, and what used to be executed with precision feels clumsy here.
| Original Score: B- | Aug 10, 2021
It's no radical reinvention, but Greengrass and Damon have pulled off a broadly satisfying franchise revival.

Shot, beaten, dropped from a tall building or whatever, Bourne is the Energizer Bunny of international spies.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 4, 2021
It's never really about catching up to the villains or the heroes; it's merely the suspense of the pursuit.

The less said about the 2016 attempt to reboot the series, the better...

Jason Bourne is a good solid action film but it could have been so much more.

By now, unraveling the mystery of Bourne's past is not enough to keep us engaged.

A pale imitation of its predecessors.

Is an effective action thriller. It has entertained me for two hours of chases, punches, shootouts, adrenaline and the clearest sign that Bourne will return. [Full review in Spanish]

Rather than creating a new installment that pushed things in an exciting and unexpected new direction, they were compelled to give the fans what they wanted. That's a shame, because with a character this good, the end result should be better.

Either the film steadily loses visual coherence as it progresses, or I was just worn down by the constant useless cutting.

This newest installment in the Bourne is definitely the weakest in the series.

[Matt] Damon does due diligence in once again creating an intriguing tortured soul with plenty of physical punishment and lots of action.
