Jingle All the Way Reviews
One of the worst Christmas films ever made and yet there's AMC, TBS, and Freeform shoving it down our throats every year!
Hilarious. However, it lacks a good message. It seems like dressing as a super hero fixes being a bad parent/spouse.
So an absent father goes around mad at the world, blaming everyone else for the fact he decided to wait until Christmas Eve to go out and buy his son the most popular toy.. but after missing most of Christmas Eve because he was busy chasing down the toy, assaulting a child, committing countless acts of property damage, attacking a radio host, breaking and entering in to someone’s home to steal toys from under the tree like a Grinch and punching a reindeer - He comes to the realization that all his family really wants is for him to be present which is more important than material things like a toy… so I guess that is him learning something and becoming a better person???? .. yet he ends up getting the toy at the end so I guess being a greedy, violent prick pays off in the end as long as you feel sorry for 2 minutes lol. At least his son was more mature and gave the toy to that other absent dad for his kid (mind you I don’t hate the movie, it was still fun, I’m just critiquing the bad writing and horrible message in what’s suppose to be a Christmas movie)
RIP Phil Hartman. Arnold is always great.
People really hate on this movie, it's not meant to be taken seriously, it's meant to be goofy, the fact that he keeps being followed & competing for an action figure is hilarious, Arnolds acting & lines are so bad they're good. Not to mention the nice ending, xmas movie I've enjoyed since I was a kid.
What did I just watch? My band teacher recommended this to me saying It was his favorite Christmas movie. God knows how much times I asked him “ Are you sure this is Christmas movie?” Still had a lot of fun watching it lol
This movie is great! Honestly don't understand the low score and poor reviews.
You bingos are my number one customer! Hard phile. Ass off sinbad
Funny classic. Put that cookie down! Now! 🗣️🗣️🥶🤑🥶
This movie ages well and the goofiness of it gives it its charm. It’s a fun, ridiculous movie that doesn’t ask you to believe it’s anything else.
I didn’t like Jingle All the Way when I first saw it. But in the years since, hearing some people say that they like it and seeing some funny memes about it made me wonder if I was too harsh. I wasn’t. This is not a not a funny comedy and it’s not a good Christmas movie. The plot stretches believability thinner than Turbo Man’s latex suit. It’s as if someone on the film set was in charge of coming up with something ridiculous every time the story strayed too close to reality. The acting is hokey, the tone is inconsistent, and the humor mostly falls flat. Jingle All the Way does not make spirits bright.
It's an intentionally goofy Christmas movie. Has the late, great, Phil Hartman, and Robert Conrad. I thought at the time it was a strange choice for Arnold, and the reviews when it came out were poor, but it kind of grows on you.
Very funny! Two dads (Schwartzenegger and Sinbad), desperate for their son's affection, practically come to blows time and again over a rare "Turboman" doll (think Cabbage Patch Kid or Tickle me Elmo). Meanwhile, sleezy neighbor Phil Hartman (RIP) shines; he's annoyingly perfect with a live reindeer on his front lawn and he keeps hitting on Arnold's wife. It's got a big ending and I've seen this one more than once :)
Deserves way more love than it gets. Arnold is hilarious. Heart warming good time with a good message and funny to boot.
I think this is better than what people give it credit for. Maybe I just think it's better than what it really is due to the fact that I was 9 years old when it came out and watched it many times during my childhood.
Just so much of this is awful and that’s why I love it. Doesn’t take itself seriously and has serious flaws. Some of the comedy with Sinbad is brilliant and relatable. Wish they’d have researched the order of karate belts before writing that scene.
While all the jokes don't land, and the climax is way over the top. The underlying family theme of Jingle all the way is its biggest strength which makes it heartfelt. Add to that, Arnold delivers another great comic performance.
Not a single dull moment in this movie. This is a classic Christmas watch. The fact that others have rated it so low is absolutely criminal.
I cannot for the life of me understand how others have rated this movie so low. Our family loves this movie-it’s the one movie we can all agree on watching. My kids are 9 and 12, and still ask us to watch it every Christmas. Is it going to win an Oscar for best acting, no, but it’s a cute, fun story for the whole family.
