Loved this movie! Real and raw. The acting was terrific and Charlie Reed is phenomenal! This lad is so talented. Made a life long fan out of me. Such a well written movie. Brilliant cast 👏👏

Pretty good but I hated some of the scenes with the dolls head on the car etc

Honestly, that was beautiful. Nothing wrong with that at all, completely uplifting.

Ok movie some scenes could have been taken out.

I liked it but I think it is more of a drama to me as an American.

Resurfacing on streaming after it came and went from the cinemas in 2022, this is your typically heart-warming, inoffensive (but slightly raunchy) Irish comedy-drama where two different people are forced together on a road trip where life lessons are learnt and an unlikely friendship is forged. Charlie Reid's mouthy teenager Mully has just lost his mother and while running away from his bad dad, Lochlann O'Mearain's James, inadvertently 'kidnapped' Olivia Colman's middle-aged solicitor Joy and her newborn baby whom she plans to offload to someone else before taking off to Lanzarote. How Ailbhe Keogan's script then unfolds is predictable and unremarkable. They bicker and make up, they try to escape each other but all roads lead them back together somehow, no matter how unrealistic or contrived that plotting is, set against an Ireland full of folksy people everywhere. Straddling sentimentality and upbeat cheekiness, Emer Reynolds, who loves an aerial shot and knows how to use them, keeps things moving briskly enough but the only reason why this is watchable is down to the charming and warm presence of its central leading duo who manage to lift the very conventional material up. Your heart can't help but go to cocky yet vulnerable Mully while the very English Colman playing Irish proves that at this point in her career, she can do anything and I'd probably watch her read a telephone book.

A pleasant evenings viewing whilst far fetched kept me watching maybe just for the beautiful scenery and the Colman acting! Good to see Tommy Tiernan make a surprise appearance.

Two low points…..boy “teaching” mid-age mother how to breastfeed …WTF. I love Olivia Coleman but this film was the worst film I’ve seen her in. Absolute trashy storyline mixed with moments of “WTF” …seriously cringeworthy.

Superb acting by Olivia Coleman and the young actor that plays Mully. Great connection between them. The logistics may be chaotic and far fetched but the pain, sorrow, love and empathy are very believable.

An engaging wholesome buddy movie starring Olivia Coleman and Charlie Reid portraying two damaged individuals who manage to help each other in dealing with their demons. Olivia Colman gives plenty of space for Charlie Reid to shine in the production. A movie full of warmth and humour although a little predictable. If you're looking to relax and just smile take the opportunity to watch it.

It was an awesome and funny movie. It wasn't cringe like most modern comedies and it was a refreshing movie to watch. The raunchiness of the movie was the right amount and used in a way that worked with the jobs. The ending could've been better but overall I definitely recommend watching it. I actually laughed during the movie.

I wish there was a rating "NOT for mature audiences." Projectile vomiting and hiding illegal drugs in various orifices were not my idea of comedy - in fact, we left before all the condoms had been recovered. The description of the movie in no way prepared us for the inane, juvenile humor.

This movie managed to be highly entertaining, laugh out loud fun, while subverting many tropes and stereotypes. There was something for everyone here. See the characters for who they are as people; don't allow racial pathologies to cloud your view. I as a Black person enjoyed it immensely! Go see it in a theater.

51%??? Are you kidding me? Any movie unhollywoody is usually great and this movie is no exception. Plus anything with Olivia in it is just awesome.

It is a heartwarming Irish movie. Like most Irish film, it is some cute, some sad but in this case mostly happy. That is refreshing today! And really nice to see Olivia Coleman in a new role.

A really super, feel good movie, with brilliant acting by Olivia Coleman as always. Totally original story line with a lot of charm and a serious dash of harsh reality for many kids and families. Can't fault it at all, and am saddened to see some negative reviews. I thoroughly recommend!
