Jungleland Reviews
As one of the 3 stars of the movie I cannot give it a bad review. (in the still in the bus station, I am the uncaring blur in the background)
Great film. Character-driven, and lit up with a full-range, heart-wrenching performance by Charlie Hunnam. Excellent acting and directing.
"Lion" is the Pride, but Stanley scrapes and claws for every star here, hanging on like his windpant's waistband.
Great chemistry between the three main characters, the relationship between the brothers is very believable. Not enough character depth so you find yourself not rooting for them as much as much as you could be. It's a shame really, if the fight scenes were better and the story didn't have too many holes in it Jungleland would be a solid four star film

there is a lot of stuff going on in this movie but i feel that it almost entirely lacks style or character and i was unsure what the point was supposed to be. it has acceptable aesthetics and some decent acting but it was extremely boring and i had zero investment in any of the characters. it lacks action and is supposed to be a drama but it's not really nuanced enough to get any feels out of me.
An amazing film with incredible performances, a compelling story and beautiful cinematography. Not sure why this film didn’t resonate with critics and audiences. In my mind it’s a must-see masterpiece.

Hunnam is great! Sad movie, I think it's a better movie than its scores, but I think movies that leave you melancholy don't get as high scores as they likely deserve.
Hunnam and O'Connell's brawny performances help balancing its poignant theme with thoughtful times. But sadly left viewers floating and the end.
I'm old. I'm not good with names. The kid who played the fighter, super. I believed him. The screwed up brother's performance just ok. Compelling story, well acted, script is fair. Overall, enjoyed it. You probably need to enjoy fighting/bk boxing to enjoy this movie.
A wrentching heartfelt story that unfortunately unfolds in too many directions and characters journey to be fully satisfying through its short runtime. That a pity because the cast is great and giving it all but at the same time there's not enough boxing, not enough relationship building and strong bonding out of screen perspective. Could have gone into deeper exploration to obtain most powerful emotional reactions. But still pretty enjoyable and well directed.
Solid movie. I don't usually enjoy watching Hunman but he was really good in this, desperately trying to turn their situation around. Lighting set a pervasive mood throughout the movie, O'Connell was very believable as a bare knuckle brawler. Pretty gritty movie all around. I liked the movie enough to join Flixster and leave my first review because the current 51% doesn't do this movie justice. There's a lot of dreck out there, this is definitely worth your 90 minutes.
2.5 out of 5 stars. Jungleland is a pretty bad drama about two brothers played by Charlie Hunnam and Jack O Connell. One fights and the other is coaching and supportive by his side. But has debts that a mobster is after. But is willing to stake a big fight for the brother to enter. While they take a girl with them to that state. The plot is decent. But the direction is dull and tedious. Its flat with the dramatic scenes. The cast performances is great. The music score is dull. It is one film that is quite forgettable.
