The Juror Reviews
I have never been so shocked by a low score. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The script is tight, written by Ted Tally of Silence of the Lambs fame, the acting is fantastic, it's absolutely gripping, it's Alex's best role as a really bad guy, and Demi and Anne Heche are A-Ma-Zing. What's wrong with people.
Film that seems to be one of those clichés, but the plot is attractive and engaging.
"The Juror," featuring Alec Baldwin and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, showcases an extraordinary performance by Demi Moore that truly steals the show. Anne Heche plays a pivotal role in this film, and I was surprised I hadn’t seen it until now. Finally taking the time to watch it in 2024, I was blown away by Demi's remarkable performance. She effortlessly embodies her character, solidifying her status as a Hollywood star—there's no doubt about it. Her ability to draw you in is unparalleled, and I found myself completely engrossed in her story, which revolves around a mob boss threatening her life and forcing her to go on the run. This film brilliantly highlights not only Demi's beauty but also her character's intelligence and resourcefulness as she fights to protect herself and her son. The director did an exceptional job crafting a compelling narrative that not only captivated the audience but also left us eager for more engagement with the characters. While the film concludes definitively, it possesses a quality that makes you want to revisit it multiple times; I could easily see myself watching it once a month and still feeling just as enthralled as the first time. The courtroom scenes are particularly impressive, especially since many legal dramas can feel tedious or cringe-worthy. Here, every aspect, including the performance of the judge outside the courtroom, was executed brilliantly, enhancing the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend watching this film and immersing yourself in its brilliance. It's a movie that deserves your attention, and I guarantee you'll appreciate its depth and craftsmanship.
It’s an okay movie. If you’ve never seen it, it’s worth watching. Alec Baldwin is the best one in it. I may be a little jaded since I’m not at all a Demi Moore fan.
one of ther best crime hitman movies of all time.
An awful story that even good actors could not make attractive. I finished it by reading the storyline on Wikipedia. That made me glad I turned it off after half an hour!
Terribly uninteresting despite trying too hard to be so and utterly senseless to the last minute, but it's watchable on a boring evening.
The trip to Guatamala was not needed but the reasoning for it was clear. Baldwin does a great job as the villain, and the supporting cast fits in nicely.
Demi Moore's performance in The Juror is mediocre and a tasteless script. I keep thinking that the Director wanted to end the professional lives of those involved after this film.
The committed performances make it work.
I thought Demi was great in this movie. I can't understand why she was slagged off so much for her performance. Baldwin was great as a sexy psycho too. I really enjoyed this movie.
The acting of the entire cast is spot on, and a seamless script/cinematography is very hard to find nowadays. This should be known as a classic thriller- at the top with Hitchcock. These reviewers don't know quality when they see it.
This very 90s and very average thriller is more enjoyable now because of the stellar cast but this is an awkward movie that never finds it's footing. Demi Moore is perfectly fine playing against type but she is not given much to do until the final few scenes. Alec Baldwin turns off the charm and is a little creepy but never as menacing as the film thinks he is. Anne Heche has a small role and an awful death...she is force fed pain killers after having coitus with Baldwin in a rather awkward and silly scene. James Gandolfini rounds off the cast and is completely wasted. The plot of the film is pretty basic: Demi Moore is a juror and the mob targets her to get a no guilty verdict. Baldwin plays the mob enforcer trying to intimidate her but his performance is uneven and Demi Moore's role is to just go along with it. When the trial is over she is finally approached by the prosecutors and fights back but the ending seems tacked on and is pretty silly.
Terrific thriller sadly gone under hammer of : Under rate !
One of the Worst Movies I have ever had in my movie collection.
It's sad that this movie didn't receive more acclaim back in the 90s. It boasts complex performances from both Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin, and makes you think all the way through. It has the look and feel of a standard suspense thriller from the 90s, but it's themes are multi-layered to make it a deeply satisfying picture.
Average thriller. I feel the duration is too long though. Single mother Demi Moore has a son Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She makes "feel" art pieces for a living. One day she is selected for jury duty. James Gandolfini and Alec Baldwin follow her and Alec go to her home to plant hearing bugs and takes a liking of her. Alec pretend to buy her 3 artworks to get near her. On the 1st sort-of date, he reveal his intention. That is to vote not guilty and persuade other juries against his mob boss Tony Lo Bianco on trial for murder. Demi comply because her son is in danger. Anne Heche is her best friend and she tell her to talk to the judge. It didn't work because the judge won't listen until the attorney and lawyer are witnessing the process. Demi don't want anyone to come into their life for now. During the debate, she manage to slowly persuade other juries her findings and convince the not guilty charge. Tony walks a free man. Alec still didn't want to let Demi away from his life. Anne has a new boyfriend and it turns out to be Alec. He make love with her and kill her with pills, making it look like suicide. This is done to continue torture and instill fear to Demi. Lindsay Crouse the prosecutor know Demi is been threaten and want her to help them back. Demi took Joseph to Guantamela to find her ex-boyfriend and put him there for safety. Alec amazingly somehow hack the airline system and found out where they gone to. Demi return back and ask to meet Alec. She approach Lindsay and demand a recorder. But upon meeting, she show Alec and James the wire and get James to take the wire and go away. Demi talk to Alec and he says he will protect her and love her. Demi secretly recorded the conversation and Alec said he will kill Tony eventually and for the time being let him stay on. She pass to Tony hoping he will kill Alec. At the meet up, Alec return the money he got paid. Tony order his kill. Alec already planted bomb in the money case and it blow Tony up in his limo and he kills everyone else. Alec call Demi and say he is gonna kill Joseph. Demi reach later than Alec and pay alot to charter a plane to reach the city in time. Alec found Joseph and chase him to a isolated ruin. Turns out the hiding boy is a man with rifle and Alec is shot, surrounded by the ambush. Demi take his gun and point at him. Alec still try to take a gun from his ankle to shoot Joseph and Demi shot him dead with many rounds.
The film was meant to be failed from the beginning already. Whilst Joseph Gordon-Levitt in his childhood playing Demi Moore's son.
