That whole snake nonsense, then being able to do a straight up backflip kick without ever practicing it.... It’s a meh for me, and the best from this is the integration of Jackie Chan to the now franchise. Also the bullies in here are way much savages than the original, the beatings and bulling are more second degree murder than anything else. Jaden Smith is really charismatic, and Jackie Chan is a long-time household favorite. It's lovely to see him as the calm, wise teacher instead of the frenetic comedian. Having much of the film in Mandarin increased the tension for us, because like "Dre", we don't always know what's going on. Bonus: there's a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" during the tournament that makes a good backdrop for the action. At least I think it was a cover. Anyway, it was good. The film has a great plot, two fantastic lead actor performances, good pacing, amazing action sequences, and superb writing and directing. This movie has not received the respect it deserves due to it sharing a name with the original series. If it had been named something else the film would have been an instant classic. I love the 1984 original as well but the truth is that this film may be ever better. The boy is going to integrate but japonesse children are bad with them . The plot seens to be absorbing because they is going to discovers a new country . The spécials effects are stunning And brillant , the photography are incredible. The performance of the main caractere is beautifull because he going to chock everyone. Généraly this film is amazing , I recommend this film to anyone who loves fights ans loves. If you haven’t seen it , you are going to miss something.
