Kay is in trouble. A strange encounter in the woods has left her with no memory. Only one thing is certain: she is the spitting image of missing monster hunter, Barb Valentine. When an intruder breaks into her house, she runs, with no idea where she's going; but she knows her only chance to reconnect is to shed more light onto Barb's mysterious disappearance. Random encounters seem to point her in the right direction, but what was hoped to be a journey of self-discovery gradually becomes a hunt for the monster itself.

Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com Incoherent narratives need to be offset by captivating visuals. “Kryptic” simply doesn’t have that in its favor. Mar 16, 2024 Full Review Alejandra Martinez Austin Chronicle The movie lays out a lot of interesting ideas about autonomy, self-discovery, and sexuality but it leaves them all at a surface level. Mar 12, 2024 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Once the ambiguously framed story clicks its metaphor into place, Kryptic transforms into an unconventional slice of goopy cryptid horror. Rated: 3/5 Mar 11, 2024 Full Review Nairon Santos de Morais Loud and Clear Reviews Unfortunately, Kay is little more than a passenger on her own journey, even if the destination is one of self-fulfillment. Rated: 2.5/5 May 8, 2025 Full Review Josh Korngut Exclaim! It's a pleasure to witness — especially for gorehounds. Rated: 6/10 Aug 5, 2024 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore Roy’s film encourages plenty of thinking about creatures like Bigfoot and what we believe it to be, yet its biggest focus is on the people who search for these creatures and what they’re really trying to find out there in the woods. Matthew P Post traumatic stress disseminated as cinematic metaphor of the monster type... Unfortunately, rather than having this layer as an undercurrent, it's fully visible in the narrative... and this lack of subtext saps the film of a requirement that is essential for this type of story to be successful. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Dennis A Don't listen to the reviews about not seeing Bigfoot the movie is excellent and the Bigfoot isn't the focus. It you want to see a Bigfoot movie they're are tons to choose from. This one is difference. And it's cool! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review chip a A Bigfoot movie where you don't actually see a Bigfoot. Waste of time, it's a stinker. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/25 Full Review tm11999 M uhhhhhh, run away........run now........don't look back......avert your eyes and never speak of this "movie" to anyone.....although the skinny chloe is quite appealing in her midness.
