Despite a much-deserved reputation for being one of the most hostile climates on the planet, the Arctic Circle is home to an array of wildlife, from polar bears and caribou to whales and foxes. This film observes the Arctic over the course of a year, with more of an interest in showing the breadth of life that grows in the region than assembling a narrative about the hardships these animals suffer or the hunter/hunted relationships they may share.

The white planet has of course real nice shots and delivers some informattion but nothing I haven't known yet. I am afraid, after having seen the ultimately compelling BBC Planet Earth Edition my expectations are quite high. Still, it is a visually stunning and inspiring movie, and if you're interested in what happens in other parts of the world... well, just have a look at it.
