Avella Edge Media Network All the heterosexual characters are involved in murdering or deceiving each other, while our two gay characters simply love one another...so the message of acceptance is even more boldly proclaimed in the end. And for 1980, that was groundbreaking. Audience Member Unusual in that the sequel is just as funny as the original, largely because everyone involved takes it very seriously. There is no forced playing for laughs as the outrageous plot (nonsense about a spy ring after a microfilm) becomes the means for some wonderful satire about masculinity, homosexuality and the innate stupidity of gender stereotypes. It also looks great in the Nice and Italian locations, and Ennio Morricone has fun referencing the Bond themes and his own spaghetti Western scores. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as the first film but I just adore these two on screen. Albin is an over dramatic flower, god do I love him, he's my freaking spirit animal. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite some funny gags, this rather pedestrian film can't hold a candle to the original. In fact, it's quite tiresome at times. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this better then the first film. Simple story, but Albin as an Italian woman was too funny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun and cheap laughs throughout Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite not being quite as funny as its fabulous predecessor, there's still plenty of fun to be had here. Uses some of the same plot elements as before (Michel Serrault attmpts to pass as Ugo Tognazzi's wife) but offers enough new twists to keeps its audience amused.
