Alberto B An elegantly simple yet poetic and authentic film, blending surreal intimacy with elements of thriller while paying homage to Italian neorealism of the 1940s. A rare treasure of Italian cinema spanning the millennia. It evokes shades of Verga in its portrayal of the downtrodden world, albeit with a much sweeter, perhaps even excessively so at times, tone that may challenge contemporary sensibilities.
