Love. Wedding. Repeat Reviews

Apr 5, 2025

Quite boring. It was an interesting concept but it was just boring.

Horrible acting and no interesting plot. Couldn’t stand any actors acting

I absolutely loved this movie! It's hilarious, well written, and perfectly cast. I can't believe the bad reviews it got on this site. My husband and I both loved it!

It gestures towards chances and alternative scenes briefly played out in amusing fashion without settling on an actual solid story, therefore losing interest after realizing it's not as funny as promised despite maintaining the effect down to the minimum through a decent cast in a progressively bland outing, resultingly being eponymously self-explanatory. (B-)

Silly but fun British version of an Italian comedy. Joel Fry and Tim Key are the highlights.

Classic British romcom

Please do not watch this train wreck of a film. It's a mess!

It was actually really promising for the first 20 minutes until it wasn't. The storyline seems very forced and confused, it feels like the script was tied itself to a knot and couldn't find an interesting way to untie it. Normally, this kind of movie is OK for passing time but even for that, this movie couldn't deliver it.

Good old fashioned romcom. Thoroughly enjoyed it

I'm surprised this movie has low ratings, it was one of those fun British romcoms. Sam Claflin is excellent, has great comedic timing, and deserves more leading roles. He and Eleanor Tomlinson made for a fun team, but the whole cast worked.

It's a film about kindness, unperfect harmony and opportunities that arise when we start inhabiting our actual selves. It's about how superficial and ridiculous weddings can be, all the anxieties we bring along when attending, but also how they can turn out very meaningful.

this was cute enough; there was a lot going on - I'm not sure i would recommend it, but i didn't hate it.

Sloppy, boring, not funny. Also not very romantic.

That one star is only for Sam Claflin. He was the only good thing about this whole thing.

I'm a huge fan of Olivia Munn so I was predisposed to watch this new release from Netflix. It was just okay. Not quite sure why it would rank #3 in the USA for Netflix movies, but I guess that's just a sign of the times … a low bar.

It would be easy to dismiss this Netflix film as fluffy tat, as many reviews have done, but I have to politely disagree. I screened this as a lockdown watchalong, and it was the perfect way to watch it really. Although it's not Four Weddings And A Funeral (what is) there's more of an edge to Love Wedding Repeat than there appears at first glimpse, and, strangely, its use of cursing is actually very effective. The set up is interesting, two versions of the same day unfold before our eyes based purely on where people are sat for the wedding meal, and I found myself laughing, being thoroughly entertained, and also surprised at how invested I was in it. Sam Claflin and Eleanor Tomlinson head a cast that have great fun with the material on offer, and are pretty effective in a film that could have been passable froth, but actually ends up being a lot more than that. It's available on Netflix.

Synopsis sounded alright. There wasn't much to the story though and was on the boring side. If anybody asked me what happened in the film, I would have to think too hard for the answer. I watched the last 20min on extra speed just to get to the ending. Disappointed at the massive lack of romance for a wedding film too

This wanted to be four weddings and a funeral so badly . At the end of the day I still found this movie to be enjoyable with a few dick jokes that got me 3.1

Love Wedding Repeat - 5/10. Dean Craig, who wrote the great British comedy Death At A Funeral and its American remake, makes his directorial debut with this Netflix film. With a star cast that includes Olivia Munn, Sam Claflin, Joel Fry, Frieda Pinto, and Eleanor Tomlinson, Love Wedding Return doesn't make the impact that it tries to within the rom com genre. A wedding goes out of control as one thing leads to another, with crazy situations coming up causing the bride and her brother to try to quelle the secret that might be revealed because of a coked out uninvited guest. Sam Claflin and Olivia Munn are decent in the lead roles, giving safe performances that are normal in the genre. Eleanor Tomlinson gives a good performance as the bride who is distraught, while Frieda Pinto also delivers a funny portrayal of an annoyed ex. The real highlight acting wise is Joel Fry, who does a hilarious job as the comedic relief in the film. Hopefully he ends up with more comedic roles. As for the film itself, it feels more of a rehash of other very famous movies (Four Weddings And A Funeral, Ground Hogday, and About Time to name a few). The whole shtick of having the same events happening over and over has been done before and there's nothing really new to offer through this film. The movie does offer a few good laughs here and there (with probably the funniest last scene that I've seen in a movie for years), but it doesn't solve the movie's lack of creativity and freshness. If you're in need of a light hearted film to pass the time, this might be your movie.
