Lucky Numbers Reviews
I dont get why this movie isn't more popular its my personal favorite from Travolta. It's hilarious seeing him play a character that you wouldn't normally expect from him. Kudrow is out of pocket hilarious as well as Bill Pullman.
Completely incompetent. Not one laugh to be found.
I can't believe the low rating for a funny movie. They delivered their lines spot on and accurately skewered the media, the police, and the whole concept of the lottery. What else do you want.
Nora Ephron's gap of skipped creativity resulted in seemingly uncaring direction towards a lazily mediocre story with agreeably unlikeable characters corrupted by greed with pitifully nonsensical desperation that molded pathetic performances from a nice cast sacrificing their dignity, and it's not enough for the satisfying payoff to save this unworthy picture. Okay, I'm not going to go into detail because it's over 5 years since I last saw this movie. (I've got it on videotape and no longer use the VCR). The only reason I'm posting a review is because I can't believe how low a rating this witty, original, intriguing and hilarious movie has gotten. If you liked Tin Cup you will love Lucky Numbers. There's never a dull moment. It's a comedy classic. I found it hilarious the first time I saw it and have laughed just as hard the other 3 or 4 times. In fact, I just watched the trailer, about 5 minutes ago, and laughed out loud. Again. John Travolta plays the movie version of the Roger Miller song, Kansas City Star. He's "the number one attraction/ In every supermarket parking lot." Actually he's the local 온라인카지노추천 news anchor with "his own table at Dennys". But the star of the movie is Lisa Kudrow, the 온라인카지노추천 weather person. If she was any stupider it would be illegal. If for no other reason this movie is worth seeing because Michael Moore (yes, that Michael Moore) makes a guest appearance playing basically himself. A despicable asthmatic nerd. Anyway, my work here is done...
People need to lighten up and laugh at a hilarious comedy when they see it. It's what makes us human! I laughed my arse off
John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow star in the crime comedy film Lucky Numbers. Travolta is Russ Richards, a weatherman that is having financial trouble so he decides to try and fix the lottery with the lottery number caller girl (Kudrow). They involve Rapport, Roth and Moore among others to hatch the scheme and everything of course spirals out of control. Unlucky Numbers was a poor man's Fargo as far as crime comedies go, but was worth a couple chuckles along the way.
the cast is wasted I have sympathy for all involved the movie doesn't reallky work and don't know why it does nothing new and gets pretty boring before the half way mark
***Due to the recent RT changes that have basically ruined my past reviews, I am mostly only giving a rating rather than a full review.***
Better than I thought going in. A decently executed story with some fun playful performances by both leads. It went a little too far over the top and tried to be a little to more serious than what it was worth. A straight up average movie.
A weatherman who seems to have it all but really has serious money problems, with the help of the Lotto Lady and a friend fixes the Lotto numbers - a move that seems to be more trouble than its worth. A lazy screenplay filled with bad timined jokes and character entrances ends up being a hopeless mess of a movie that is hard to follow or care for.
Yeah, the plot is silly, the acting was far from great, but yet, this is a pretty decent comedy, with some good moments!
great cast, seemed like one of those movies where everyone went to acting camp and said hey let's make a movie...but what will we call it.... I know lucky numbers, then they add some funny stuff... a little drama and a life lesson...to create...???????
It was merely a fine picture, with weak plot.
