MadS Reviews
I went into this movie blindly. I seen all the positive reviews on Rt. I started watching this and was bored with movie from the start. I could care less if any of the people survived or not. I wasn't a big fan of the movie "The Crazies" either. So after forcing myself to watch this to the end, I really didn't like this movie either. Reading subtitles to this mess, made the experience even more irritating. I can't recommend anybody wasting their time with this. I liked "The Sadness'" better the this movie. Quarantine was also done better then this one.
Basically just another typical zombie movie, except it was done in one take and had good acting.
This movie is a chaotic fever dream. It reminds me of 28 Days Later. Really solid watch imo.
I don't hate this movie, but the pacing is a bit off, it's quite predictable and doesn't build on anything similar movie have done in the past. The drugs angle seems superfluous to the main plot, which is thin at best. Really, this movie just doesn't feel like it has anything to say. As a pure entertainment piece it is far inferior to The Crazies, which has the same premise but is a far better watch.
Pretty brutal horror/sci-fi of sorts. It’s a delightfully sloppy mess of chaos and pandemonium that’ll have you lost and on par simultaneously. Definitely an intense watch. Not quite 4*, I’d say about 3.75.
A new fun and interesting take on a zombie film. Milton Riche, Laurie Pavy, and Lucille Guillaume proved themselves as strong actors; their emotions kept the film going. The ambiance is created well and the one shot take is impressive.
Not a clue what was going on, buy enjoyable drug-horror flick. Hope the world don't go to sh** like this. Esp enjoyed performance of main GF - apologies can't recall actress name. Brilliant filming and editing, lots of long takes.
This isn't just a great horror movie but a feat in every way. Doing an entire hectic horror movie through a sprawling city in one take while having fantastic acting all around and never letting up with multiple themes is a marvel. Do yourself a favor and watch this right away.
Interesting movie for the way it is made (was it entirely a single take ?) and for being a slightly different slant on a well-trodden horror path. It was fine but it didn't make that big an impression, though I would be very interested to see what the director does next.
WOWOWW the acting was absolutely phenomenal!!! The cinematography, lights, music were soo good! I was on the edge of my seat the WHOLE movie. Excellent!
Sensationally directed, shot. The 1st half is perfect. There was one change to the story I would've made (Spoilers): I thought the camera should've followed the killing squad instead of changing protagonists. You could've still ended at the same point as well. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the story felt repetitive. An A, B, A format would've been better then A, A, A. Still, a worthwhile watch and one of the best executed films of the year imo.
I went into this movie with no expectations and was completely blown away! It has the perfect level of intensity, curiosity, eeriness, and intrigue. It gets your pulse going, completely sucking you in, leaving you unable to turn away. The acting is phenomenal and the whole movie feels like something that is truly happening right in front of your eyes in real time. There is not a single thing I would change about this movie. Watch this NOW!
I had some trepidation going into this movie after reading about the one-take production. Feels gimmicky to me and gimmicks sometimes paper over issues in a film and distract the viewer. But after an initial eye-roll when the movie commenced, I was fully drawn in when the camera jumped into the backseat of the Mustang and just kept going down the road. I knew then there was going to be some real ingenuity in the cinematography and was eager to see where it was going to go. Did not disappoint. After viewing it, I started re-imaging the film if it had be shot in a standard multi-camera/angle way and thought it would still have been compelling, but in no way would it have had the claustrophobic death grip on the viewer that the one-take shot illicited. Well worth the watch.
The greatest and funniest bad trip ever!
Finally, a really good horror flick. Dark, twisted and sexy. Beautiful cinematography. You know a movie is good when you keep thinking about it days and weeks after watching it. Highly recommend.
The movie was interesting and original but a little difficult to watch. It's hard to describe but if an actor did something odd for a moment or just a couple of times and moved on it would be fine, but it felt like the actors would do odd things for an extended amount of time to the point it was annoying. This movie is worth a watch but wasn't my favorite.
This movie is astonishing - once it starts, it NEVER stops - and literally, with the camera almost always in motion. And seemingly in one take, though I've read that the cuts are concealed - the effect is to make it impossible for the viewer to get away from the feverish action - which makes the movie increasingly claustrophobic (even though large parts of it take place outside.) You're plunged into the action with the characters - nothing's explained until near the end... and at first you think the movie's about a new drug that's causing bad trips... but in fact, what's happening is so much worse... it's unbelievably tense, but so well-made that the final effect is exhilarating. A great movie, by the director of another terrific horror movie, ILS.
Weird movie. I was bored the only impressive is the one shot film. That was very impressive
The #1 horror film of 2024. Nothing else even came close.
Promised much, delivered none
