Magazine Dreams Reviews
Terrific! Atmospheric and tense, just the way real movies should be. Male lead Jonatnan Majors deserves an Oscar nomination.
cried 3 times throughout, end caught me off gaurd
Excellent film, and Jonathan Majors puts on an oscar-worthy performance.
Very interesting movie. Not what I expected and great acting by Jonathan Majors.
Oscar-worthy performance from Majors. He embodies the character and takes off with it. If you don’t watch it for the storyline which is also great, watch it for his performance.
In my opinion he would’ve gotten an Oscar 2 yrs ago from this performance.
Whilst the film itself isn't perfect and is abit longer than it should be and hammers some things too much. You cannot deny Jonathan Majors Oscar winning worthy performance as a clearly autistic man who struggles to conenct with people and that lack of connection mixed with isolation and his drug abuse, and his lofty ambitions of grandeur lead to mental issues and psychosis, incredible from him it really is, its so uncomfortable to watch at times, he really transformed for this role. If he didnt have his personal stuff, guaranteed Oscar nomination. Sad how this movie got brushed under the rug because it explores some dark and interesting themes, it may not pull everything off perfectly but Its a solid enough movie and worth watching for thr performance alone!
Sorry cancel culture, dismiss this film if you will but it's a masterpiece and it features one of the finest acting performances of all time.
sad asl but gone head and see it if u get the chance
First off, I think jonathan majors range as an actor cannot be ignored and it shows within this film, and the commitment to the character was visible while the intensity and purpose of character always reminds you where the film is going. The film captured more than a complex character but someone who dealt with a tramatic event in his life and focus on the american dream while being of color in a socially charged time. secondly, I belive this film did an amazing job on multiple areas of communication such as the dialogue, visuals and tones of color. Lastly, I personally felt theatres didnt give this movie a chance to capture people when it was first released but I hope people will give it a chance and let the story speak for itsself.. I really enjoyed this film because it gave a strong personal story, the film was an experience and it moved me. Hope you enjoy !
The most shocking, uncomfortable, and disturbing role of Jonathan Majors’ career. Pumping iron and unraveling mental health clashes as this intense, twisted fairytale spirals into a dark abyss.
Jonathan Majors as Killian Maddox is Jamie foxx as Ray charlies what a great performers from Jonathan Majors he was real, beautiful and powerful in this performers one of the greatest films ever made with the greatest actor of our generation truly commendable film. And performers 11/10
Just amazing storytelling and performance from everyone involved.
Very powerful and emotional 🔥
'Magazine Dreams' is a dark, uncomfortable and disturbing bodybuilder drama anchored by an excellent Jonathan Majors.
Amazing, absolutely amazing. Majors has talent that’s been lacking in Hollywood for a long time, and the cinematography is breathtaking.
Great performance by Majors. Frankly, would we have seen this work had Marvel not dropped him? I don't know, but, letting Majors go was a significant loss to Marvel and a gain for Majors.
The Jonathans character did a really great job at interpreting emotions, felt really sorry for him and scared at the sametime.
Awesome performance by Jonathan Majors.
Jonathan Major’s performance is what holds this film together. Brilliant performance in a film that fails to give its audience what it needs, a committed storyline.
