Married to the Mob Reviews
It was a silly R rated 80s comedy. It has its moments, but I don't plan to see it again. I saw it since it was on the NYT 1000 movies list. SLC DVD.
A wonderful cast of characters although I would've loved to have seen more of Baldwin and Cusack characters. Funny and entertaining enough to keep me interested. Tim Treakle
Casting is really good loved it
This movie reminds me never give up.
Demme's zany staging works, mostly because he found the perfect cast to pull this movie off.
This movie was pretty lacking in plot. I watched patiently for 50 minutes and couldn't take any more. Don't bother with this one.
Fun movie! Great cast.
Feels very shallow, despite Pfeiffer doing what she could.
How are the audience reviews for this so low? Saw this in the theater back in college and I love this film. Quirky and hilarious... with a killer soundtrack. What's not to like?
Entertaining, quirky mob movie from director Jonathan Demme with an Oscar-nominated performance from Dean Stockwell as a mob boss.
Love the cast, performance and fashion. Astonishing Pfeiffer in younger days, it's fulfilling to see her like that. The plot is simple with some humour thrown into it, but this time it's shown totally from a woman's perspective, which deviates from other mob movies and I liked that. It's such a relaxing movie, which you can easily keep a track of although you spent some time on the phone.
Really playful tone and it looked the cast was having a ton of fun making this. Stockwell and Ruehl were excellent and take co-MVP honors here as Mr and Mrs Russo. I never expected to hear New Order featured in a movie centered around the mob and credit to David Byrne for the well matched score.
Not a drop of humor.
Jonathan Demme tries to make a mob comedy and succeeds, thanks to an interesting story and especially a wonderful turn by Michelle Pfeiffer.
Described as a dark comedy in everything I read about it. Really just a kinda crappy story with some 80's hair and Mathew Modine smiling to big every now and then. It's a movie that exists, not sure why.
A really great drama. Don't be fooled, this isn't a gangster film although the story is heavy on them. Recommended
A strange, zany bunch of fun.
