Mean Girls Reviews
Could've been longer. It feels like they didn't have enough time to push the plot further because they were trying to jam a bunch of songs together along with the plot. In the og movie we got to see little glimpses of Regina being mean like when she complemented a girl's skirt and immediately after the girl left Regina insulted her by saying that the skirt was ugly, pretty subtle. In the 2024 version tho, she's either blatantly mean or the movie tells you she's mean, at the beginning there's literally a song that talks about how mean and popular she is. they could've also explored the characters more, Karen does nothing for most of the movie, Gretchen's just a minion, and Aaron is just there to be the love interest, wich I guess is kind of the point but it still feels a little bland. I thought the songs were great, choreography was great, and I thought the singing was great, I don't know why people keep saying the singing was bad it sounds good to me. That's it
I did not expect this to be a musical going into but I still very much enjoyed it . It gave a new generational feel while also staying true to the old one ! Perfect !
Loved the casting choices that were made. This was a great adaption of the stage musical. Just wish that some of the songs didn’t get cut out.
No le tenia mucha fe a este musical y esta increíble, las canciones son todas excelentes y pegajosas, Reneé Rapp como Regina es la perfección misma.
This movie is a prime example of why Broadway musicals should stay on the stage.
The Aaron casting is so bad, I really don't know what they were thinking about when they cast this guy. Otherwise, the movie was so fun. The songs were pretty good and I think the MVPs were definitely Janis, Regina and Damien.
Sayang oras. Ok sya as a musical pero kulang para mapantayan ang hype ng original. May mga eksenang nakakatawa din naman pero parang di swak na gawing musical ang isa sa pinaka tumatak na comedy ng early 2000's
Just isn’t it…it’s hard not to compare to the original, especially when it’s trying to be everything like the original. It’s bad. Just bad.
its good like (sexy is good) dance happy halloween
This teen musical comedy based on the stage musical and inspired by the 2004 film of the same name, follows new student Cady Heron as she is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by an elite group of popular girls called the Plastics, ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George. While it captures the spirit of the original with strong performances and stylish visuals, the musical numbers are hit-or-miss, aside from a couple standouts, since they lack staying power, and the choreography feels underwhelming. The modernized approach adds some freshness, but given how closely it mirrors the 2004 film, recycling the same jokes, dialogue, and even full scenes, it struggles to justify its existence and feels a bit unnecessary. Ultimately, it is an entertaining watch, but if given the choice, I would rather see the original 2004 film instead.
This is the worst movie it’s not even really a movie at all it’s just non stop singing it’s so annoying. This could have been a great movie if they actually tried and didn’t make it a joke.
Adapting the musical of the same name while being a remake at the same time. With a ying there is a Yang; the cast is great but some of the musical numbers are not well translated onto the big screen, the choreography is solid but the camerawork is mixed and they are some funny moments but the characters are either annoying or dumb
The remake that no one asked for but a musical ! This one was pretty much the same story as the old one but with music. I’m not a fan of musicals so this already starts bad. Not a good movie 🍿🍿/5 on Prime
Great songs, and there is a lot of fun to be had, but this is a much less charming version of the original with a lot of cringe-worthy moments.
**1.5 Star Review: *Mean Girls: The Musical*** As a longtime fan of the original *Mean Girls*, I went into this reboot with skepticism—and sadly, my doubts were justified. While the casting and acting are decent overall, and Angourie Rice delivers her usual charm, the film is a pale imitation of its predecessor in nearly every way. Let’s address the elephant in the room: Regina George. Rachel McAdams was *the* embodiment of a queen bee—beautiful, commanding, and dripping with charisma. Renee Rapp’s Regina, while a talented singer and dancer, completely misses the mark. She lacks the looks and presence needed to sell the idea that she’s the most popular girl in school. When the rest of the cast is more attractive and charismatic, it completely undermines the character. The music doesn’t fare much better. While serviceable, the songs are entirely forgettable—nothing sticks. And for a comedy, it barely made me laugh. The humor feels forced, the writing out of touch, and the excessive reliance on TikTok references to show “teen life” is laughable in the worst way. I’m not even Gen Z, but even I can tell how off-base it is. To make matters worse, Lindsay Lohan’s cameo feels like a throwaway moment with no real connection to the original. This reboot isn’t just unnecessary—it’s an uninspired attempt to capitalize on nostalgia while failing to capture what made the first film special. A frustrating disappointment.
This movie was better than I was expecting it to be. While remakes are often very poorly done and just straight cash grabs, I didn't feel that way about this one. I went in with low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. Now, that's not to say this a masterpiece of a movie, with some really deep meanings or anything like that. But it is a fun movie. Some of the songs were enjoyable and entertaining, albeit a bit silly. But that's part of what makes them fun! I enjoyed the choreographing, and the visual aesthetics created for a couple of the songs were (dare I say it) quite fetch. There were a few jokes here and there that didn't hit, but for the most part I thought that the humor was also well done. Go into this movie with an open mind, and I think you'll find out it's alright. It's not the original Mean Girls, but it's certainly not a disgrace to the franchise in my opinion. Sit back, relax, and just appreciate the entertainment from a good, solid movie.
Wayyyyy too much singing in it. Makes it unbearable in my opinion. The trailer catfished me into thinking it was a good remake
Some things should be left alone…
The movie should have stayed the original it was, but at least its not the worst
No no no noooo! The 2004 mean girls was an iconic classic film and what did they do they remade the whole 1st film into a musical. Half the songs weren't that good and it felt like every 10mins there was a song😭 I prefer the original 2004 film over this garbage
