Bowie is comfort food for the soul

It's a fascinating look at a cultural icon, not as a biopic but more as an experience. It did start feeling long at the two-hour mark. Stay to the end of the credits. There's a small surprise.

Loved it. Saw facets of Bowie's art that are less known. He was an extraordinarily expressive dancer!

Not the typical documentary biopic. A true Bowie experience for two hours, a must-watch for every fan.

I needed some Bowie.

Nicely weaved story. Really enjoyed old footage along with the great snippets of live music. Also loved seeing the bit from Elephant Man which I was fortunate to see in NYC back in the late 70s. Suspect old and new fans will enjoy it. New fans will also have the opportunity to learn a bit about one of most talented artists in Rock music history.

Really liked it. There was a ton of footage from the early 1980s film by DA Penebaker.

Amazing. Totally new perspective on David Bowie after watching this. Wanted to watch it again the next day and wish I had see it on IMAX!

Loved the music, concert clips, seeing changes in him throughout the years from film footage. I would refer to this more as an experience versus a documentary or movie. Didn't really come away with a lot, seemed to have so little information, facts, history on him. Well put together but again not enough background to learn more about the amazing person he was. I wanted to learn more!

It didn't do David Bowie justice. I went to sleep twice during the movie.

Mind blowing, chaotic, informative, fun, nostalgic. "I'm an alligator". .. A pretty unique opening line for any song. Bowie was a chameleon. He had so many identities and facets. He was very talented and obviously had huge amounts of energy to do all the things he had done. I think by age 33 he had 17 albums he had been into films he had all kinds of paintings he had done and I think he appeared on Broadway also. And he was just getting started right? He pretty much experienced a very very full and rich life. He ran around the entire world until he met a Iman. He didn't hang around with rock and rollers he spent a lot of time on his own and traveling the world… He was fascinated by life and different cultures etc. he would never have been the kind of guy to get a job raise a family… So some of his advice in the film to me is like well yeah if you're an artist- not everybody can be like that-or enjoys that kind of extreme and every single day striving and "creating " life but they still add value to our world. We need steady eddies just like we need the unstructured. Exhilarating and trippy in spots. I literally cried when he pulled up in limo in Brixton to a PACKED crowd - (small town boy returns home) So many emotions… Plus I grew up listening to his music and lived through the era. I never saw him live but I regret that I didn't! I was probably a little young and would've been scared of seeing him as Ziggy Stardust! Recommend it

Portrait of an Artist as a Rock Star. As a Bowie fan, I know other fans will enjoy this film, but putting that aside, if I can, it's also a fascinating portrait, uniquely told, of a man who lived a life like no other, and wound up having a profound effect on pop culture for decades.

Movie was more of a montage collection of interviews archival footage and artistic visions not what I expected but entertaining.

It was a thoughtful, in-depth look into his life and the creative process behind his music. It was brilliant and eclectic like the artist himself. I think Bowie would have loved it. I certainly did.

I always loved Bowie but I didn't realize how truly brilliant he was. I was intrigued by how each of the movie he had a different look. Such a chameleon and such a great artist. I think the film was too long and I thought it was ending about 5 times before it finally did. I thought the director was trying to be as artistic as Bowie!

A hardcore Bowie fan must see! Not a biopic but a story told by Bowie himself. Brett Morgen deserves an academy award for his brilliant editing and psychedelic film. It was candy for the eyes - mind - story and of course the artistry of Bowies music. Wow!
